That's your prerogative and of course, you don't need to directly reply to anything I've said. I know we've had a few disagreements around Israel-Palestine in the past, but fundamentally, a lot of my views have been unchanged since then (if anything, I'm an even harsher critic of Israel).

As for your comment being moved to this thread, I can't answer on behalf of Spurf and I'm sure he'll give you his reasoning when he can. My intention was to avoid a thread on the Aston Villa game descending into potential chaos.

But the (pretty obvious) insinuation from your post was that Solomon's absence was a consequence of people threatening him/his family to harass him due to the heightened tensions within the Middle East. His nationality is also a clear giveaway. So whilst you may not have mentioned directly the reasons why he's absent, the implication and tone from your post makes it apparent.

Sorry CK it does not get any more political than Israel/Gaza. Perhaps you were unaware of the reasons behind what you are talking about. It's certainly not about football.

Anyway that's my bi-annual foray onto this thread done and dusted.

Back to the ****s and giggles.

I can understand what you're saying CK and I think that you have a point.
A number of posters have decided to do exactly what you're doing, though.
Getting into it on a match thread would probably be something that they'd like to avoid.

I think it's a tricky one. Our updated injury news supports what you've said.
Our absentees are: Richarlison (knee), Fraser Forster (foot fracture), Ryan Sessegnon (hamstring) and Manor Solomon.
    That's from the official site:
    https://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/news/2024/march/team-news-aston-villa-vs-spurs-porro-update/

Maybe the issue deserves it's own thread?
It's a sporting, political and club issue and people are avoiding some of those.
Giving the toll that it can take on people's mental health, I can't say that I blame them.

The UK and US have warned Russia about an impending terror attack in Moscow.
This comes just after a claim that an Islamic State attack was prevented against a synagogue there.

    Indeed (on both points) .
Which is why my reply to you was in the
context of the effect on THFC, the CLUB.

Now what? Does Sunak get the boot? Do they rush an election and take the hit?

Spot on. Life is politics, which makes these distinctions somewhat artificial.
Henderson playing in Saudi Arabia - politics
Rashford campaigning for free school meals - politics
    Celtic v Rangers - politics
    Lazio fans - politics
Lack of black managers - politics
Gay players not coming out - politics
World Cup in Qatar - politics
    FFP rules - politics
And there are countless more examples of where football is intertwined with some aspect of politics. These are fairly obvious ones.
People interact and their actions and words determine what they do - that is politics.

Seems like Luton's visit to Palace is the most likely candidate.
How did he think nobody there was going to recognise him?

Just in case you ever face a Tory claiming that the UK has never faced such levels of domestic extremism......
