There are clearly gaps in the squad and we've had some pretty serious setbacks with injuries but three managerial appointments in a season only causes disruption. While a lot of that is on the people making the decisions, they might not have made some of those decisions if certain members of the fanbase hadn't been such utter fannies about the second managerial appointment.
I agree with this mind. The fans backing him or the board backing either would have helped, both even better. Not convinced he was right but he was given no hope.
I'm really torn on this one. Just don't know what we should do for the best Appointing Beale was a disaster as was giving it to Dodds. The Beale appointment set alarm bells ringing. A dreadful fit. I really don't think he was or first choice it was done because he was available. This gives me no faith in the next appointment. If they bin Dodds now difficult to get the right replacement. The pool will be bigger in the summer. But as you say the momentum has gone and Dodds is taking us backwards. Unless we really show ambition and get someone like Potter then on balance we probably keep Dodds rather than a make weight Beale mk 2 but its a ****e situation
One good thing is that Hume didn’t get booked and will not miss the next two games (having been on nine yellows) Some want Warnock in until the end of the season. If he does well there will be many who want to keep him on and I think that’s not part of this ‘The Model’ That’s why we probably will not get him in. Perhaps our youth team manager should take over from Doddsy as he will be used to having a team full of young ‘uns.
Sacking Mowbray? 'Ok, we must have a real beaut lined up then!?' Enter Beale? ****ing shocking! I agree fan reaction was harsh. But replacing Mowbray with him? I wasnt surprised. Christians to the lions spring to mind.
Has to learn the lesson, that his second half team post subs is stronger and therefore must start the next game. Said it after Leicester and didn’t learn. Aouchiche and Rusyn deserve a start. Patto Hume Seelt Ballard Hjelde Styles Mundle Rigg Neil Aouchiche Rusyn Likes and Ba and Jobe can come off the bench later in the game
Speakman and the others making decisions have undoubtedly made mistakes this season. But too many people, instead of saying "oh no, they've made mistakes this season", have pissed their pants and made ludicrously over the top statements about how bad things are. Beale clearly knew about all the social media bollocks being written about him so it's unlikely other people at the club missed it. I don't believe that his unpopularity didn't play a role in his sacking. Yet, sacking him has only exacerbated the situation, creating more upheaval within the club. Ironically, a third managerial appointment of the season is probably the only way to start back on the road to recovery.
I think Cooper would come here, but it will cost. He will bring his team and Dodds and Proctor will be back into the coaching ranks or gone. I do find it odd Dodds is still here after two head coaches he worked for are gone. Then it becomes a review of Speakman in the summer and whether he stays or goes, along with one or two others behind the scenes who havent put their bear foot forward this year.
He never recovered from his post about welcome to England and the stud marks. From then he was labelled as soft and ****e, rhe fact his stats proved he tackled and got stuck in were immaterial. Then we lost to Luton because we where bullied and everyone made their mind up
Ive had no problem with 'the model.' Our first run of signings (Clarke, Roberts, Huggins, Cirkin, Ballard, top notch(as of 5pm all currently injured ). Its been our second wave that has been the problem. The players in themselves might come good. But it would be common sense to not put all our eggs into the 'one for the future' basket. Once we are safe, if we dont tweak our 'model' and sign one or two players who will get the fans onside, i fear for next season.'
I think the best thing the owner could do now is let someone who isn’t Speakman decide what happens next. It’ll be the end of Speakman but that’s his choice. He will be covering his arse and loyal to his mates and I think we need a business decision to get us back into shape. I’m still not convinced we’ll do well. We are league one/two up front, but we need to get things under control and be harder to beat.
Not his fault mate. He’s a canny lad doing his best but he’s in a hole that he can’t escape from with the tools he has.
Cooper would be an appointment to build a promotion team around Football wouldn’t be as expansive as under Mowbray but he would build a team hard to beat and set up to win games. At the minute we are not a team just a set of talented young players going through a coaching drill
