... and the social media vultures, wise guys and internet accountants are already circling ready to be the one who finds the smoking gun. It's possible, of course, that the owner is taking us all for a ride and not like the one Quinny promised us ... funny how he gets off scot free. What's sad, is that if there is no smoking gun and the owner appears to be be covering losses, they'll no doubt say there's been a fiddle somewhere. I wonder if there's been some conditioning because of the massive issues with Short, Donald and Methven or if some people are just naturally negative and vindictive. There are people putting out stories about Sartori buying other clubs, KLD going begging to MSD for loans, Speakman only being there to rake in money, the club dictating what players can do or say in their private lives, etc etc etc ... ... no facts necessary, just start a rumour and watch people repeat it until it becomes one.
Grumpy otr has said for a while he is expecting them to show a small loss or possibly to break even. If its break even that should be big news on Sky etc as it would show you dont need a nations wealth or throw money at it to be relatively successful. Sad thing is it wont even raise a murmur
No, they'd rather pretend 'little old Brighton' are there on a shoestring ... ... and Newcastle are in the top half despite playing kids and suffering endless injuries. It's staggering how people will argue with Grumpy, who's at the top of his game, despite knowing f*ck all ... just because he doesn't back up their drivel.
Even Brentford get the same treatment. Its against the law to mention the money their owner put in as "it was for the stadium" no £22 million was for that the remaining £72 million he is owed was for players and wages. Dont forget plucky Luton punching above their weight, paying over 150% wages to turnover......
It's strange that some otr who havent got a clue about finances, will argue with GOM. When the club finances do come out, it's one of the few times I go onto PF just to read Grumpys summation of it. He explains it well, and puts it into words that I can understand. He puts a lot of time and effort into it as well, not sure the majority over there appreciate it.
That might be a good idea tbh. I would do the courtesy of asking him first, if he's OK with it, I would be happy to.
Not only that but I was with him for the Jack Clarke goal at Reading, top man! If I remember correctly he was saying Leeds and Southampton have a wage bill quadruple ours, one of them won't go up automatically. Norwich, WBA and Cardiff are more than double our wage bill, with less support, none may go up. I doubt any of their fans would argue against more spending ... ... but we'll, no doubt, have to feel sorry for them if they end up like Reading, Sheff Wed or Charlton. He says we can copy anything mate, it's just not that often I look on there.
Way of the world these days. Rightly and wrongly everyone has a platform and usually the doom mongers hold sway. Even those who at one time would be called village idiots can make up stories which people then other promote as fact.
They'll be suspicious of anything and everything they don't understand.....which will be most of it,...even if GOM does try to simplify it for them!
I've seen people post some wild accusation and GOM will calmly explain how it's logistically or legaly impossible ... ... the next post will be agreeing with the accuser and saying he'd heard the same thing
Looked at RTG to see what GOM is saying about the accounts. Had to laugh at SAFC 2012 and his miserable little clique still twisting about 'Reiver' after all this time In a week when we've had news of the SOL upgrades, a great win away, with local lads playing, and the loss of a great Sunderland supporter these losers are bitching and moaning about Sunderland as much as ever. A lot of what I say here, and did there, was deliberately to wind up the pro-whingers ... ... I didn't realise it would last all this time. I know you're watching lads, don't pretend you're not
