One of the guys at my walking football died suddenly just before Christmas. He was a Leeds supporter. We used to whinge to each other about how bad our respective teams were. Neither of us thought we would go up. He would have loved being so wrong, that they weren’t sh**e after all. Congrats Ron.
We often limit teams to under 2 shots on target, we’ve had an amazing season, I think all4 top teams have, it’s a shame on the two who miss out as previous years they’d be clear
That’s what you need for promotion. Lots of goals for is great but defending a lead is the secret. We just slipped up too often.
We sacrificed promotion for an unshakeable, pig headed football philosophy. Unbelievable that a squad containing KWP, THB and Alcaraz wouldn't gain promotion. Maddening
Hard to disagree A different manager and our squad is easily as capable as Leeds/Leicester. I seriously think with a more organised defence and playing Charles in a couple of games instead of such a powder puff midfield, wed be close. Oh well. Credit to Leeds. Elite mentality this season. Crazy high points total it’s been a fun season as well. Martin has done well to turn us round. Play offs is a terrifying prospect tbh

You know what he’s saying. RM’s done great/ok but his failing, imo, has been this belligerent approach to playing out from back & it seems no / not much of an alternative. A tweak, with a different approach in certain games or during certain games could have well provided gains. We’ve been a bit one trick imo. Still, win the PO’s & he’ll achieve god like status.
People said exactly the same kind of thing about Poch, I seem to recall, and he took us to 8th in the PL.
And? 8th PL is a bit different than 3/4th here. But of course different squad, time, etc. Now’s now & iirc promotion was the clubs goal.
I again feel that it merits mentioning that in any other season we'd be cruising to promotion. We're one of the best sides in the history of the Championship. Problem is, so are Leicester, Leeds and Ipswich. Someone's going to fail to get promoted no matter what their level of managerial genius; there are only two automatic promotion spots. It's not an indictment.
