In the 2019 General Election, there were plenty of seats where there were more Postal Votes than the victorious MP’s majority. For example, the most Postal Votes as a percentage were in Houghton and Sunderland South, the seat won by Shadow Education minister Bridget Phillipson with a majority of 3,115 where 43% of voters (29,581) had access to a postal vote and 22,782 were returned in a total vote of 39,811. So it is just coincidence that so many MPs with small majorities are in areas with high Postal Vote counts. The three Conservatives might be in Brexit voting seats. There is something noticeable about the Labour seats. I wonder how many Muslim women who cannot even speak English had postal votes. A number of small majority Conservatives are missing off this chart as they are in obvious Brexit seats, just like some Labour MPs that survived because of split Brexit votes.
