Frank Herbert wrote six dune novels.

His son the wrote quite a few after his death. Many of them prequels to Dune. This new Dune movie takes it to the end of the first book. The next one will be the start of Dune Messiah.

Nah it's actually quite good. Sam Rockwell is fantastic in it. It's a bit mental though. Quite Kingsmany if you know what I mean.

Did you ever watch Kubo and the two strings?

What a fantastic film. Stop motion animation at its best. A masterpiece even.

And left a ****load of half finished manuscripts with plot lines, that were finished by Anderson and Herberts son.
There's well over 20 books in the series.

Enjoyed reading the first books as a teenager but not really up for later adaptations ...

There's one series that I'm amazed has never been turned into a film franchise and that's Julian May's, Saga of the Exiles - first book The Many Coloured Land ... up there with Tolkein, Rowling, Herbert and George RR Martin for me ... more towards Martin's end of the scale as there is plenty of raunch potential... but also manna from heaven for today's special effects wizards ...

Tricky to adapt imo without leaving big chumks out but you never know particularly as there is another series if the first was successful .
