https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/68489496 We're so skint it's unbelievable !! TBF the losses seem t be heading in generally the right direction, just very slowly.... though it will be interesting to see what effect Bulut's tenure has had on things as that won't have been accounted for here as far as I am aware.
Most football club finances goes way over my simple head but and in full knowledge of my broken record, wouldn't some football expertise on the board cut out some expensive mistakes?
I ask as I don't know. How do losses of over £50m over 3 years impact our FFP position? Ant idea anyone?
I think the £39M 3 year loss limit was suspended over the pandemic years which this £50M loss spans. You are more likely to get an embargo/points deduction for other breaches of the sustainability rules such as failure to pay transer installments when due or failure to pay player/staff wages on time. Other breaches of account reporting attract penalties as well, such as not adhering to agreed procedures.
I understand that certain loss contributors are allowed....such as ground works, women's development and social type work.
As it is not my money I don`t need to concern myself. Tan is paying for everything with no thanks from anyone.
Didn't know whether to put this here or on the Championship thread but I see Leicester are in a row about their finances now.
Here’s some unwelcome news. Reading between the lines the club will be looking for odds and ends, strays and journeymen in the summer window unless Tan digs deep. Why doesn’t he pay off or restructure Dalmans loan to stop the club haemorrhaging cash to him in exorbitant interest payments? It would be better if Dalman was out of the club as IMO he’s more a hindrance than asset. https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/cardiff-city-confirm-major-club-28770494
Old news - all that info is in Brizzo's OP. I do agree that Dalman raking a cool £2.5M a year in interest on his company's loans is obscene when he tries to play the role of the "good guy" in all this. Tan has to be lauded for his unflinching support - it's just a pity as someone supposedly so astute, he doesn't recognise the elephant in the room.
