    Glaring miss by Ward.

We're far too lax in possession though... And where the hell did 6 minutes come from???

Hard earned but welcome 3 points.

50 up with 10 to play. Perhaps Colwill Junior and Ashford will get some game time now?

    Only Ipswich next. <whistle>

I suppose we controlled the last 10 mins ok seeing as Huddersfield were pushing up for an equaliser
We still need a goal scorer to put games to bed though
even game for me (wonder if FFB agrees on the prediction page :emoticon-0147-emo:)

Udders could easily have got something out of that game but by the same token we could also have made life easier for ourselves if Meite had taken his chance and with some better decision making in the last 10 - 15 minutes when we were getting some joy hitting them on the break when they left gaps all over the pitch (thought Tanner was dreadful in his cameo. Time after time he made poor choices or hung on to the ball too long).

But winning breeds confidence and it's another clean sheet, so have to be a little content with that...

I agree except that for the first time in a while, we're closer to the playoffs than the drop zone. <laugh>

Pleasing win. Quality goal. Good to see City not going too deep, and the subs were well timed and made a real difference in last quarter. Great to see O’Dowda back, he’s a class footballer.

Three on the bounce and another clean sheet. Tougher challenges ahead but what had to be done, on the pitch at least, has been done.
    Well done.

Been in demand today. First real chance since the game to spend any time on here. Amongst other things had to take the 4 dogs for annual health checks and booster jabs this morning, but only 2 of them needed it.....<laugh>

Last night? Well I was pleased with the win and 3 points but they were won at the expense of any style. Sheer grunt got the job done over a reasonable but far from good Huddersfield outfit - in fact I thought they were unlucky not to go home with a point.

Our dogged but plodding midfield to attack transitions is still there. Diedhiou got the goal and took it well but for me that was all he did in the game. Actually looked worse than Etete at challenging for and holding up the ball to bring others into the game.

I'm liking Turnbull more and more each game playing across the line in front of Ralls, but Steady Eddie Wintle doesn't do it for me - nice bloke but no cigar. He's a decent foil in front of the back 4, but if we had a good right back alternative, I'd play Perry NG in that spot - he's quick to step forward and can pick a pass.

Of the widemen, Bowler is as slow over the ground as Grant is quick, and Tanner looks naive - maybe he's just trying too hard to impress? I don't know how to categorise Colwill. No doubt he possesses the skills but often looks awkward on the ball and his decison making on times is suspect.

All in all :emoticon-0159-musica win is a win and it's 3 points in the bin.:emoticon-0159-music

Meitie has scored 1 goal in 28 games. The new striker has 1 goal in 7 games. Class from Bowler for the cross. Grant loses the ball without even trying to get past players like Bowler does, it is like a repeat when he gets a chance right to the goalie. Colwill and Tanner need to play 90 minutes, Bulut has put them under extreme pressure. O`Dowda for Grant and suddenly we driving forward, he was almost man of the match, luucky to have him.

    Good analysis Sparkey <ok>
I guess result over style has been the needful for a while now.
Hopefully, as remote has already said, the remaining games of this season can be used to blood some youngsters. Of course, wins generally promote confidence so perhaps the regulars can also be encouraged to play a bit more freely now.
To get ourselves safe so early is with our squad is a big achievement in my opinion.
Time now to assess and plan for the future. Not holding my breath for the real needs to be addressed but we shall see.

Indeed. As the Board only look at results not what type of football the manager preaches hence the decision to give McCarthy and Hudson contracts without really looking at the future, if we have a half decent run in then it won’t be a surprise if Bulut is given an extension to his contract.
