Maintain current points per game over the remaining 10 matches and we'll finish on 73 points. Whether we go up or not, that represents a big improvement on last season. Either way we'll have a season to enjoy from The Summer, either playing the 'Big Boys' or having a great opportunity to get promoted next year. Fantastic turn around under Acun, Tan and Rosie.
I don't get the optimism around next year. As it stands, nearly 50% of our first team are either out of contract or will be returning to their parent clubs. Some may stay, we may agree new terms for some of the loanees, but neither is a give, we could have another massive rebuilding job on our hands and we'll then hear the same guff about the players needing time to gel etc. before you know it, it's Christmas. Only 3 teams are promoted, the top 4 spots are pretty much gone, although Southampton seem to be doing their best to screw that up, there are another 5/6 teams competing for the final 2 spots. 7 of those teams will still be in this league next season, plus the three coming down. We have an opportunity this season that isn't guaranteed next.
My optimism totally revolves around the people owning and managing City, and their aspirations. Simple as that.
It isn’t guaranteed for any of our competitors either. No club stays the same, they are always evolving. Some succeed, some fail. Right now, I’d say we’d be more likely to progress than regress next season, given the commitment of the owner.
That's an exaggeration, if all the out of contract players had left in January, we'd barely have noticed. We'll have to replace them, but we'll do so with better players and we'll obviously have to replace the loans (though one or two may yet still be with us next season). If Greaves and Philogene go, there's a bigger job to do, but at least then we'll be fishing in a bigger pond.
Well I was just about on the money with this.....Which makes our ability to 'feck it up' (big style) on Tuesday all the more frustrating. Didn't look like a sending off to me, but eh I ain't complaining. We got a shout out on Radio Norfolking chance, on Budgie call when an irate budgie said Hull City are having a larf charging top whack £300, while they're paying £500+ to watch the Budgies perform. True..
Anyone think we could get philo and Greaves to give 1 more year...buy into the project and all that. If we don't make it, free to go. Obviously new contracts would probably be needed. Back the bid!
Everton supposedly sniffing around Greaves...Spurs for Philogene...As much as I like Phliogene I don't think he'll do much in the prem week in..week out.
I for one would be unhappy but happy for Philo to go for different reasons. I do think too much emphasis has been put on his undoubted talent and I think if we were brave enough to hold out for £25 million (maybe a bit more) plus add ons, we could likely find someone who could do something similar. The money would be great for the club for FFP and to fill this places we desperately need to fill. As for JG, I think of the two head be more likely as CB value increases as they age and this time next year he could be worth an extra 7/8/10 million.
There's a way Geo. The trick is to take your teeth out first, wrap em in a hanky and put them in your pocket prior to commencing argument.
"I have a striker who played with our Under-21s (Aaron Connolly) who is not fully fit," Rosenior told Hull Live. "Noah Ohio has shown some really good (moments), that's by far the best he's been on the pitch. "I'll give you the (reasons) why. He played 90 minutes on Tuesday (against Grimsby in a behind-closed-doors friendly last Tuesday) and he looked quicker, sharper, and fitter. He wasn't at that level against Huddersfield. We're building him into it and Billy's (Sharp) great. Billy for me is someone who can add experience in vital moments, more towards the end of games. "And we've lost one of the best strikers in the league in Liam Delap. If I play Noah at the beginning of the game, maybe we don't get the control and dominance because he's a different type of striker. "They're all the fine margins. It's not as simple as we haven't played a striker, so we haven't scored enough goals. We haven't taken advantage of the moments."
Yeah, most of his goals were scored before Rosenior arrived. On fire before. And then the goals (and appearances) started drying up after that. Odd that!! Anyway, who needs goal scorers #can'thavetoomanyNo10typesthough In 22/23 season he played 38, scored 13 In 21/22 season he played 33, scored 16 Decent.
12 players out of contract. 10 of which are regulars in the match day squad. 5 arguable first team starters if not for injury. Not including the possibility of the likes of Jaden/Greaves leaving. Splitting hairs to suggest it’s an exaggeration.
The five arguable starters are all loans, who will obviously be replaced, the rest we won't miss. Our squad improvement in the past couple of windows has been excellent, there's absolutely no reason to not expect the same this summer.
And not on the bottom rung... If I was LR id be saying 'get your ****ing tights and gloves off' and look a footballer as well as act like one.,.
