The squad is close to being epic considering where we were end of 2020/21 Pope-Dubz Trips-Tino CB-Schar Botman-Burn LB-Target Tonali-Anderson Bruno-Longstaff Joelinton-Willock RW-Almiron Gordon-Barnes Isak - CF 4 additions away from a really good squad with decent cover in every position. And that's without the youngsters behind them like Ashby, Murphy, Hall, Miley, Minteh, Kuol, Sanusi, Hernes etc.
I've not included Murphy or Wilson although there's space for 3 more in that squad. Major work for he summer again is the Outs: Karius Gillespie Krafth Lacselles Dummett Lewis Hayden Murphy Ritchie Wilson
If you ship Wilson out now, you're really looking at two strikers coming in I'd probably hang on to Krafth too as he can cover both fullback positions, but probably depends on what we're doing at LB. Seen reports today suggesting we want a starting LB with Hall going out on loan next season.
I don't think we should get rid of karius and gillespie. One maybe. We need at least 3 keepers. I wish we could have gotten rid of targett, but we had to go and give him ridiculous wages, didn't we?
Karius will wantto move on and Gillespie isn't worth having so I'd let them both go and try and sign a young (18-23) but good goalie, someone like a Trafford or Bazunu for example, as a 3rd choice next season - Dubravka is 34 so will need replacing in the next few seasons
Big Joe is worth 100k a week really. He's one of our most important players, we look weaker without him. After Trippier and Bruno he's up there.
