Delap was a good signing but it was another gamble. He's young and unproven. Serious money needs to be spent in that area on an experienced and proven forward if we are serious about challenging. Obviously all transfers have an element of gambling but you can place the odds in your favour with the right signing
I agree, completely messed it up. Add the decisions to let Oscar go, continue to overload with similar '10' types (excuse my lazy simplification), use Twines spot for Carvahlo rather than a CF type, etc. How much do you think is down to LR? It's got to be quite a lot surely?
Seem to remember it being 3 or 4. Either way, with delaps form we obviously went for Carvalho Pandur and Zaroury instead of revisiting the CF position ahead of January, then lost Delap. You can only spend money once unfortunately, and selling tetteh, loaning out Oscar for decent fees has given us the limited headroom for those players. Another summer should see us increase headroom by another 13m as long as Acun is happy to invest it. Takes more than 4 windows to get from a relegation/L1 squad to a serious promotion challenging one more often than not .
Another years permitted losses -averaged out over a rolling 3 year reporting period. Acun is investing the max according to recent interviews with himself and Tan. .
Yes I know that, but where's the figure of £13m come from? I've not heard an interview stating we have £13m headroom etc
No guarantees, but we were effective in the loan market this year, so we're in the same boat in summer.
Share the frustration over lack of a striker, not creating enough real chances, etc but just come on here and you'd think we'd lost 4-0 last night and were in danger of being relegated. Will be lots of twists and turns before end of the season, I think, so important the frustration doesn't boil over into too much pessimism. We are still in with a good shout of the play offs. I know that's obvious but almost feels like we've lost sight of it overnight?
See the edit. Permitted losses are averaged from 39m over a rolling 3 year reporting period. If he's investing the max, that's the figure.
Right again I get that, but were has your £13m come from? How do you know that's the head room? How do you know what loss we have generated this year? How do you know what figures we may sell players for in the summer?..... How have you come up with £13m?
As an average of permitted losses. And the fact we're still in a probationary period where the FA have to sign everything off as sustainable meaning were unlikely to have exceeded that average in the year we haven't yet seen the accounts for. I could ask you how you know it isn't that but you wouldn't know beyond balance of probability either. Obviously if we seel players for profit then headroom is likely to increase beyond that.
Jesus, you do know there's an actual Ignore button? I don't know who you're arguing with as I've got whoever it is on Ignore. Half the posts on here sometimes are someone having a pointless argument with someone who won't give in because they're barking mad, and all I see are the responses. If people are that much of a pain, put them on Ignore! P.S. Yes, I am aware of the irony if HT2 doesn't see this response because he's got me on Ignore. If that is the case ... ****er! (Runs away and peers round corner).
Ive got nobody on ignore ... Its Syd yet again, I have just haven't bothered interacting with him for a while now, but getting sick of him constantly twisting what me and other people post and just making **** up in his head and pretending it's what people have posted or ment with their posts. He just needs to stop doing it and maybe just maybe people wouldn't be so inclined to put him on ignore, argue with him or call him a ****er
I aree with you re Carvallo he's done ok not great, but he has done it at the expense of minutes for one of our players that can the job just as well if not better than him-Tufan. Where is the sense in that. Carvallo is going back to whereever and Tufan is not.
