This boards full of it, a player goes out on loan and the longer he’s out for the better he becomes.
    Injured players are the same
Acun said a while ago “striker” is the one position he wouldn’t take a risk with. At the minute his risk of not signing one is the reason we aren’t scoring.
Why did we take tufan off, he’s the only one of our forward line that you’d back to score

My thoughts on last night. Obviously frustrating to draw with a poor team. Playing without a striker is certainly having a negative impact, there were several times when we were passing it about that our wingers were forward but our 2 central attackers had dropped back into midfield which meant when the ball went wide we had to delay until they'd caught up.
The biggest thing for me though was subbing off probably our 2 best players up until that point. Even after Birmingham's quadruple change we were the better team, but once Tufan and Seri went off it just handed the impetus to them and we were duly punished.

Your first two sentences could have been written after almost every home game this season.

I’m still scratching my head not just about last night but the fact we have only won one home game since the New year, that’s awful form for a team fighting for the top six. Away form however as been excellent . It’s such a massive contrast but why? Yes teams come at us more away but we’ve broke and the massively important thing is that we have taken our chances. Last night a number of shots in decent positions ended up way over bar or well wide of the goal. We played some lovely football especially in the first half but I can’t really remember either keeper having much to save except collect crosses.Going forward something at home as to change, wether that be the overall tempo, shots have to be on target, changes up top but with who?. Home form you normally rely on but ours is an hindrance at the moment and if nothing changes is going to cost us a top six spot.

Id actually forgotten about acuns comments re a striker.... Basically he/we wouldn't scrimp on that position and we'd do it properly etc. not happened yet has it

The notion that Delap only offered goals (which seems implied in citing that as the stat that matters when it comes to his impact) is wild to me.

As always Tigress a voice of reason./ it comes back to that adage doesnt it... 'if you always do what you've always done, you will always be what you've always been'... and in football cleverer people than you will work this out.

He gave Rosenior Tetteh and Oscar. Didn't work out, but hardly scrimping, and a mistake letting Oscar leave (without adequate replacement).
He supported Rosenior in allowing him to get Connolly and then keep him again this season. 'Emotional' mistake.
He supported Rosenior with a season long loan for Delap, a signing he was very pleased with. Unfortunate.
He supported Rosenior with the loan of Carvahlo, likely seen as a source of goals after the flop of Twine (albeit mostly used in wrong position). Did we really need another '10' in preference to using the slot for a CF type? As good a player as Carvahlo is, I'd say another 'mistake' in terms of what we really needed.
He supported Rosenior in bringing in Sharp. It sounded like he was very happy to have Sharp come in during the January window; maybe even pushed for it as an answer? Mistake.
No idea about Ohio, but I'd assume Rosenior at the very minimum agreed to that loan too. Not writing off yet, but obvious questions alround on that one.
I get that the last 2 are not big money signings, but he has been supported.
Rosenior's name is repeated in my posts as, although others are involved to varying degrees, the buck stops with him in terms of final say, stressing priorities, how we use what we've got, etc etc.

I also think there's a disconnect between the two holding mids and the forward line. I think Seri could be better utilised in this team. He's one of the most gifted players in the squad with the ball at his feet and I don't think playing next to Slater or Morton gives him the maximum freedom to be that link from back to front. He drops deep to receive the ball from Jones and Greaves but very rarely does he pop up in spaces in the final third where he could play a killer pass to one of the forwards. We know he's capable of that because his pass for Connolly's first goal against Blackburn away earlier this season was class as an example. Slater and Morton are given more license to drift forward than Seri but their passing range and vision are nowhere near as good. We very rarely attempt to make passes that break the opposition's defensive line. It's all just pass to feet, pass back, pass to one of the wingers so they can try and take someone on.

Like when Philogene was out, all we need is Philogene back.

Our front 4 can currently be 100% changed from the first half of the season, it usually tends to be 50 - 75% different/new players. The constants are the lack of attacking threat and cohesion, the inability to score, and the management.

Bang on, I've struggled to comprehend some of his substitutions all season long.

But he did pop up in that exact position last night and had a shot at goal, unfortunately straight down Ruddy's throat.

We’ve got 4 strikers on our books and one out on loan. Acun has come up with the goods, it’s not his fault they’ve all been kicked under the bed and forgotten about.

I think something else that isnt helping at this stage in the season is a consistent attacking lineup. Everywhere else in the team there's a decent amount of familiarity and consistency, back 4, midfield 2 etc.. but everything ahead of Seri & Morton has been all over the place. There's no time to gel and gain understanding of where players will be and what they'll do. Sometimes we have a striker, sometimes a false 9, Philogene plays on the left then right, Tufan is a no. 10 then the next game its Slater.. its just all over the place. I honestly dont think LR knows what our best attacking lineup is.

For me, Philogene on the left, Tufan as a no. 10, Omur on the right, Ohio as the striker. Zaroury and Carvalho off the bench are fantastic options to have.

The problem there is HB, is that I think Carvalho and Morton (at least) have to start.
