    Fair play mate, if I’d been blowing smoke up their arses all season just to end up with egg on my face continually I’d probably wrap it in but you’re still going.

    After trying to calm things down by saying I can’t see us getting relegated, I’ve just spent 20 mins looking at the table, our results and our fixtures, and now I’m worried sick :D

    I just can’t see us scoring goals or keeping clean sheets.

    The rational side of my brain knows that us going on a 15 game losing streak is very very very unlikely. But the other side of my brain doesn’t know how we win at the moment.

    All season?

    I've never once said Hume is ready for the PL, I've never seen anyone else say it either.

    Good second half performance, we just need to put two good half performances together. Need to sort out our formation and players quickly. O9 booking means he'll miss a couple of games?

    Just got home, the difference when he brought on Mundle and Adil was so obvious. When you are playing with no wingers you need attacking players who will chase every loose ball and try and capitalise on mistakes. Hemir and Jobe are the complete opposite of that. The decision to start them up top in that setup is absolutely baffling.

    Jobe looked infinitely better playing in the deeper midfield role so would like to see him there again.

    Rigg was impressive, again especially in the second half when he had players buzzing around him that he could work with.

    I still think a good manager would be able to get a tune out of these exciting young players we have. The decision to not pay compensation for a good manager when Mowbray was replaced has absolutely cost us this season.

    ️ Mike Dodds: “I’m aware that’s five on the bounce now and we have to buck that trend as soon as possible…
    “We gave a snapshot in the second half of how we want to play.”
    @JamesCopley_
    Mike Dodds says that Leicester's xG in the second half was 0.01. Adds that his team were "sensational" in the second half. Say his group are in a good spot but they have to buck the losing trend.
    @JamesCopley_
    Mike Dodds: "To go toe-to-toe with a Premier League team in waiting should give everyone a huge boost and confidence."
    @JamesCopley_
    Mike Dodds on the pen shout: "I haven't seen it back. Dan is adamant that it is a penalty. My thought is why would he go down?"
    He adds that it is now gone and there's nothing they can do about it.
    @Phil__Smith
    Dodds: People should be excited about Riggy. He was so effective that I wanted to leave him on for as long as I could.

    Aye we got better like but the first 20 they just pushed 4 into our 3 fearlessly and we looked thoroughly vulnerable. Plus another poor defensive goal from a cross. Twice we were second to the ball. Rigg Aouchiche and a bit of Mundle graft (he was ****e like but a mile ahead of Hemir) lifted us. Best I’ve seen Aouchiche. Ekwah for Jobe also helped. Jobe is better looking forward. Ekwah is heartless.
    Agree on the striker, Rusyn is better than Hemir but it’s not a big ask like. It makes everything ponderous. It’s a joke t be honest. The club need to hang their head in shame over the striker options.

    TBH with Hume he has been utilised as an inverted midfielder for a lot of games which did not really suit him, that said I agree our full backs do not attack the byline as much as they could or drive into the box (Huggins did this quite well) but I think it is more about confidence 1st half tonight Hjelde had a few opportunities to go on the outside and was given an earful off Jobe for not supporting him on the wing, but again second half he had a bit more confidence and ran the channels and wing a lot better.

    I think it's understated how much we miss Cirkin and Huggins. I like Hume but he's an old school defensive full back, he's not going to provide width or get to the byline.

    What Aouchiche did in 30minutes on the field and where it ranked among the Sunderland team:
    • 0.15 xG (2nd)
    • 0.16 xA (3rd)
    • 5 shots (1st)
    • 3 shots inside the box (1st)
    • 2 shots outside the box (2nd)
    • 1 shot on target (2nd)
    • 3 chances created (1st) (this doesn't include his pass for Ballard at the end)
    • 6 crosses (1st)
    • 2 completed crosses (1st)
    • 15/16 completed passes, all completed passes were forward
    Play him.

    Agreed. 2nd half performance has to be the standard for the rest of the season. Rigg starts for the forseeable for me - comfortably MOTM

    Any team in the world would miss 4 or 5 of their best players. No shame in how we played tonight

    He clearly does attack though. Tonight's game being a clear demonstration of that fact.

    Who thinks they're ready for the PL?
