The pressure will be cranked right up when that QPR game comes along because chances are we'll lose the next 2 so that'll be 6 loses on the trot.

I've just read about 20 pages of this thread....I am depressed. Everyone in the world knows exactly what is going on at our club except me! "it's good to see we are spreading the net far and wide" WTF does that actually mean? How do you know this? Have the club telepathically relayed this to you? "We are not spending money on players" Again how do you know this? which players do you want to spend money on? Are the players available, do they want to come? "We need to have Fred Bloggs ( no offence Fred) as our next manager 'cos he **** in the same pot as Maradonna! Where do folk get all the information from? Am I the only SAFC supporter who isn't in the loop? Or is it as I suspect lots and lots of people wanting to make themselves feel important? Our owner IMHO has done a brilliant job of steadying the ship which was in danger of floundering on the rocks. He said at the start, he had a five year plan, why can't people just accept this, instead thinking they know better? I haven't been given all the info on which manager the club are after (why should I), but whoever is eventually given the job is allowed to do his (or her) job, and not be hounded out.
I realise this is a discussion forum, where lots of good discussions take place, but some comments make it seem as though the poster has divine right to air their knowledge (or obvious lack of it). I don't profess to knowing what goes on in the backrooms of the club, I don't want to. I just want to be able to support it and enjoy the football. OK the football hasn't been that good recently, but every club goes through sticky patches. I am close to 78 years old and have been supporting SAFC for as long as I can remember (first match about 70 years ago), have been through some horrible spells with relegations, and some bright spells with promotions. In all those years, I never heard so much commotion and negative emotions running wild as now. get back to supporting the club. We aren't the basket case some make out
Sorry about some of this ramble, I think I got lost off so far through!

Sadly it's the way of the world, now. We've turned into a society where everyone believes that everything is a conspiracy and it's everyone's duty to criticise whether or not they're qualified to have an opinion. We're told it's good to "speak truth to power" but in most cases that turns out to be "talking bollocks to knowledge".

Its obvious that KLD is running us into the ground, that Speakman is his stooge, that Jobe's dad picks the team, that the BCB thing was an inside job, etc. It couldn't possibly be that things simply haven't gone our way this season.

When Speakman said they’d be looking to go one better than last year and fight at the top of the league.

Everything done since then has been nowhere near good enough to reach that.

I personally think it’s getting the recruitment right more than the coach being honest. Of course we need one. I think it’s a tough job when we’re short on quality in a couple of crucial qualities, admittedly injuries and suspensions have drained some of that. Could it be better through a better coach ? Yes. Could it be much better? Probably not

I don't see it as that black & white tbh.

We've kept the likes of Clarke, Ballard and Neil so there's clear intent to progress, not just sell for profit.

And we've been hit by injuries to players like Evans, Huggins, Stewart, Cirkin, Alese who could've made a big difference.

As could Amad who the club really tried to resign.

It's been a messy season but I don't believe the club have been complacent ...

... they want the PL for many reasons, it's not just the supporters.

Yeah and we’ve been unlucky with our recruitment together with the injuries to key players
The new one recruited have not slotted in as quick as was liked
I think that’s been down to having to push them in to cover injuries and of course the loss of pritchard
We’ve tried auchiiche ba rusyn pembbele
And I feel there were forced into trying styles seelt semedo and hjelde and Mundel
And there haven’t proved a major success so I have to trust in the team selection for the next few game
You could play anyone for me cause most art as bad as each other at the moment

Tend to agree with this. Managers that I've worked with have said that recruitment is the thing that makes the most difference. You can have a coach/manager who is tactically streets ahead of anyone else but if they can't get the players in that they want the team is going to struggle.

Having said that, I don't think there is too much wrong with our recruitment. Its not as simple as saying "we need an experienced striker" and then going and signing one. You have to identify one, then see if you can afford him, then persuade him to come. If we're working to a budget, that's going to limit who you can bring in.

I agree but if we don’t get players at the right standard we fail so there comes a time when if it’s not sorted something changes and i think we’re there. Burstow’s loan has had a terrible impact overall and was a bad call.

Roy Keane in at 2/1 second favourite!

Where has that come from? Has he expressed a wish he take the job?

Other than Still, I don't think it will be anyone on that list. Although there are a couple I'd be quite happy with.

Some easy money there for those who claim the club will take the cheap option and appoint Dodds <whistle>

I'd really feel uneasy if we brought Keane back.

Me too! I don't think KS will even consider him, because Roy can be very intimidating.

Keane gets a big no from me. If he had managed at lets say Forest instead of Sunderland would anyone seriously want him?
