Reckon Jobe will play, alongside more square legs in round holes.

Predict that we could play till midnight and still not score.

0-2 (that’s if we can keep them to 2)

Bound to be, three tough games in seven days and lots of miles to travel.

Plus we need to play home and away which will need different tactics.

I don't know how far on Evans is but these next two games are exactly where we'd need him.

A win for the lads, as it seems like it's the Sunderland way to lose to the crap teams but win against the decent ones.

Dodds has already said Evans will need two reserve games before he’s in contention for the first team,

Same squad as the weekend then? Apart from Ballard returning of course. I’d like to see Styles played in his natural position and Ekwah rested/dropped. Rusyn and Mundle wide with Rigg playing off Hemir

I hope we can dig deep and find that fearless play that we are capable of. We’re low on confidence so the crowd are going to be key in getting behind the lads, picking them up and staying supportive.

Really like the look of that, would love to see Adil have a little run in his natural position, Jobe has had a really good run without looking outstanding, maybes it's time someone else had a chance

Interesting comments about Hemir being all in on the training pitch. Earlier in the season Mowbray was calling him out for not being if I remember rightly. Good turn around from the lad. Wonder if is also a little message to others? IE give me everything in training and I will give you your chance? As a coach not much worse than a player not putting everything in at training.

How many games has he started in the no10 role which is his natural position (none) the wholesale changes in that line up are actually putting players into their natural positions. Adil hasn't been given the chance because that would mean starting ahead of Jobe. I actually like Jobe and really rate him but to me he isn't performing at a level where he should be undroppable, from what we've seen of Rigg I think he could bring as much to the team as Jobe.
Adil looks quality in the clips I've seen of him playing as a 10, unfortunately none have been for us as he hasn't been given the chance.
We are playing Neil as the CDM which isn't the most beneficial position for him to be playing there for the team. We have signed Styles who can play there but we played him on the right wing ffs

That's how it should be. IIRC Keane used to pick his starting XI based on performances in training.

Keanes standards on training are legendary. The stories about training at Man Utd are quality. I have never understood players who dont treat training with the same importance as the game. Practice makes perfect etc.

Guardiola is renowned for training standards and dumping players who dont train well. If you train badly you play badly is his saying and I think that is spot on.

Fergie used to say anybody can play a game of football, at whatever level. But what makes proper players is now much they train and practice.

Ballard back is a real plus point. However think their midfield will be too much for ours. Striker wise, it's hardly worth discussing ours ATM.

Would take a point now to stop the rot, can only see a defeat though.

I never understand why any footballer doesn't give his all in training. That's your ****ing job for all of 3/4 hours a day. I have to speak to c**** on a phone. Think yourselves lucky.
