Yes, does feel a big game this one. It's a while since we had an undeniably good home game. We beat Millwall obviously, but even that ended up being an underwhelming performance against a poor side after the early promise. We can't rely on good away results forever. At some point you need to be able to pick up routine wins in games like this one. But I'm not confident in us blowing them away as we'll be expected to. We're never free-scoring, even against the dross of the division, so the usual factors will be important: score the first goal, don't give away anything silly, etc. If we concede first then it could become very tricky.
At this stage of the season, this type of game is a must three points. Norwich are away to Boro and Preston away to Southampton on Wednesday, so it might just be a chance if those game go in our favour to put a bit of light between these 2 rivals.
My 3rd live game of the season. So far I've had a draw at home vs Plymouth and a loss away at Portman Road so I'm due a massive win! Come on City 3 points please. UTT
Their form's patchy at best, especially away. Take it to them, be adventurous and (admittedly it's a novel idea) play someone upfront.
Need to try and get the ball forward quicker in this one. If we're going to try and break through 11 defenders everytime we advance (due to turning back too often in possession) then we need a striker starting ideally - and for me right now, that person is Ohio or Connolly long before it's Sharp. Giving someone a long overdue tonking would be a real statement of intent at this stage in the season, though I imagine it'll end up a fairly close knit affair again. In all honesty there's still no way to predict which Hull City will turn up on the day, even now.
We need to bring Macca in for Greaves, we’ll be less likely to concede then which will give us less work to do at the other end of the pitch, and more freedom to focus on attacking.
Win and Middlesbrough doing a job on Norwich would be a great night’s work… don’t think we’ll catch wets brom so need to solidify 6th. Will mean either Leeds, Southampton or Ipswich in the playoff semi….. mind you could still be Leicester stranger things have happened….
I was In Birmingham yesterday. Like many places it has been greatly, & purposely, neglected. City 3-0 Birmingham
Stansfield I really rate, a bit like Delap has been for us this season, he has really upped his game.
3pts the most important, but it would be really good to see a complete dominant home performance with a team killed off
He was actually the one I wanted us to go after in January, but probably outside our budget. Would love us to target him in the summer if we can't get Delap back.
