    he does deserve it
and hes absolutely improved jaden and delap, they always had that potential but they've both had their breakthrough seasons with us and rosie
it's actually a massive shame we didnt get to see delap with the additions we've made

same with greaves, always had the potential, he was a bit shaky last season, but he's showing this season he is premier league level easy

i cant think of a single player that hasnt improved since rosie came
coyle is technically limited, thats no insult to him, but hes massively stepped up this season

recruitment wont always be right, if it was easy, everyone would do it

Relentlessly negative? I think you're being a bit dramatic there.

Most of the 'negative' comments revolve around us being a bit light up front and failing to capitalise on chances by not being able to field a striker.Pretty fair assessment to be honest.I think most on here realise that with a recognised striker,a fox in the box,a 20 a season goal machine,a fit Delap,we'd be pretty much cemented into the top 6.I think on some occasions you simply choose to describe frustration as 'negativity' to fit your own narrative.

Having a broad sweep with a broader brush adds no context or substance to the poster or posters you're having a pop at.

Fair enough, perhaps it was an over the top description.

I certainly think it's true that this board is more negative than elsewhere and I think it was worth pointing out that when Syd was being mocked for being out of step with the majority, that's only really the case on here. The mood at the game yesterday was much more in line with what he's saying, and it does seem to be a theme that on here we go on and on about the negatives for days after every result. Maybe that's the nature of a forum, but I'm sure it didn't used to be as gloomy as it has been for the last year or so.

It's not gloomy FFS, it's people pointing out the same shortcomings game after game, unless it's changes why would people stop talking about it? People can post 3 positive bits about a game and one questioning something and you & others will jump on that one part and call them negative, say they have a narrative, want LR to fail etc.... totally ignoring the positives they talk about.

Maybe some people are content to see us just make it, just win or just hit the playoffs etc. whereas others can see the potential for this squad and want us to fix the quite obvious shortcomings and hit that potential.....

I really couldn't comment on what the reaction is on other forums(ie:Twitter,Facebook Etc) as I don't post on them or read them.

I'm not prepared to go into 'Sydney Tiger' at any length but he seems to reap what he sows with persistent digs and sarcasm and a reasonable portion of the toing and froing involving him today didn't have a lot to do with yesterday's game .As for the mood at the game yesterday, it more of less ties in with any other away game. The away crowd has it's fair share of booze and is pumped full of adrenaline but it still expects to some extent?.I heard some groaning and grumbling and comments surrounding Allsop and some of his hairier moments...Par for the course nowadays and some of it valid.

As long as people have access to internet and keyboards, spats will occur on forums,it's not exclusively our problem...It's Worldwide on the web.

As for yesterday.I thought a draw was about right but if we'd have had our 'fox in the box' or target man up front, there's a reasonable chance we'd have bagged all 3 points.

Since the turn of the year we've scored 1 goal in 7 different games, no goals in 2 games and only managed 2 goals in each of those 3 away games in a week; all 3 of which we won 2-1.

That's 9 games where we've failed to score more than 1 goal and we haven't scored more than 2 goals in any games.

We're currently playing without a recognised striker not because we're so innovative that a false 9 (or 10 or whatever) suits our unique way of playing perfectly, but because we haven't got a striker who's deemed good enough or fit enough.

    Negative comment incoming...

That's got to be the responsibility of the manager, Shirley?

Just my opinion, it speaks well of the way we’ve played these recent weeks that despite the obvious blunders in signing strikers (or more likely, lack of viable targets that were better), we’ve still had good results (yesterday’s included) and reached the top six. It’s a straight-up cup half full/cup half empty issue, it beggars belief to me how many people want to argue in ever decreasing circles about it.

    Bollocks, I’ve joined in now haven’t I? :)

I prefer a glass but I'll bow to your choice of receptacle.

Anyway, mine is both full and empty at the same time.I agree that we are pulling out results and we're still pitching in there but I firmly believe that if we had an out and out Championship level striker we might have already been discussing our Arab rich opponents next year!!

Anyway,it's certainly not about pointing a finger at Liam Rosenior.Delap's loss was a huge blow and I'm fairly convinced that Liam Roseniors beaker may have shipped some liquid when he got the report on Delaps knee?

It's had a huge impact on the way we play!!

That’s why I find this “wish we had Rosenior in five or seven years time” guff so odd. With the tools available to him he’s doing a pretty remarkable job right now.

Find it odd all you want, I think he'll be a much better manger / coach in 5/7/10yrs time and it's an almost certainty that he won't still be here in that time frame

Well yes. It’s an odd thing to level at him now though. He is many things, but he isn’t Marty McFly.

Sorry but if you are looking for what might have happened as opposed to what did , then at least add the number of clever ‘ tackles ‘ they made in our half when we tried to break . You can’t just pick out ones like that it does look negative . It’s like people who say if the other team hadn’t hit the post or shot a lot but don’t score they could have
Ok I’ll take that it’s a surprise , but maybe watching Fabio give up the ball so easily along with a few others we looked weak , maybe they weren’t real tackles just weak attempts so weren’t counted? It’s a minor point but it had a major effect giving up the ball mostly near the halfway line - it gave the confidence to push up and squeeze us . At times to balance things some of our passing moves were class .

    btw...
of the 419 Championship games played, so far this season............95 have ended in draws....22.6%
Whereas, in the Premier league 267 games have been played and 53 have ended in draws...19.8%

Not much in it...Maybe the championship is not as competitive as we think.
