Can't believe his family / Advisors insist on it, unfortunately he isn't his brother, he may well go on to be a good player, but I don't think he will reach Jude levels
I’d be bothered about Jobe going the least. It would be a good sale in my eyes. He’s getting linked with these clubs and these price tags cos of his brother and nothing else. If he was called Smith he wouldn’t be getting talked about anymore than Ekwah. Fleece whoever is daft enough to give us big money for him and get it reinvested elsewhere in the team. Might help us be less inclined to accept offers for Neil or Ballard as well.
to be fair i get it as a family point of a few if my son was moving id want him playing as many minutes as possible and he wasn't playing as much as he wanted id want it in his contract where he could get out easy if he wasn't getting them minutes a lot of clubs wanted jobe in the summer he picked us because of the game time he has canny few sniffing around him again aswell real Madrid lazio dortmund man u man city tottenham sporting lisbon liverpool newcastle all been watching him i think he's got a great future ahead of him i think people forget he's only 18 and like the rest of are young players they will all be in consistent because of the age, i think some fans look at are players like the in the prime and thats why alot get labelled as ****
None of those clubs would have given him guaranteed minutes imo. As I said he has the potential to be a good player but he's not his brother and being guaranteed games I don't think helps him
He's not been good recently but Jobe has had a great season considering his age and the constant coaching changes. 5 goals and 1 assist so far, second top goal scorer at the club. I don't think he's a 10 though but that's where we seem to play him mostly. For me, his best football has been when he's deep and can collect the ball and drive forward, he doesn't have the technical ability in tight areas to be the 10. Definitely wouldn't be looking at selling him unless a stupid bid comes in.
Thing for me is, yes he's a talent, undoubtedly but at this moment in time i wouldn't say he's any better than Rigg. Rigg came on, on Saturday and should have replaced Jobe, but he didn't so we ended up playing one out of there natural position. If these top teams want him then cash in rather than play him every game when he's not benefiting the team, the team comes first not jobes development. That will come with time, he needs to learn if he wants to play, he has to earn the right with his performances not because its in his contract. Who's it benefiting, not us, and not Jobe, most of his suitors are probably looking at his performances and thinking he's not going to reach anything near his brother. He's nowhere near the best player at the club, so shouldn't be a nailed on started when there are players just as capable not even getting of the bench.
Which is as a detriment to the team and unfair on others. It’s the tail wagging the dog and players shouldn’t be dictating who plays
