If it's confession time, then I'll go next. Quite often my perceived negativity is just me preparing for the worst whilst really hoping and sometimes even expecting the best. I have been positive about Marti from the outset and I think he may well keep us up, although I genuinely do think that it's going to be very close.
One thing that struck me watching the defending of their free-kick which lead to their goal, was when the ball was rolled back, no-one attempted to close down the ball, which would likely have blocked the goal-bound attempt. Instead the wall stood still and watched the chip over.
I think we all expect it to be close Col. Unless, that is, our winning run continues for another two or three games! Often there is one team that unexpectedly climbs away. Why not us?!
The more I watch Armstrong goal, the more I think. We practiced that. Ball onto Dunne's head, headed down to Field who just shields it, making no attempt at shooting...then in comes Armstrong and wham...no stopping that one. I've heard that some other teams practice set pieces... but cannot believe that we are doing that now too
No confessions required of anybody. We've all been euphoric and all had our doubts, and not that long ago when we were not scoring any goals but spent an age just tapping it around the park like a bunch of wannabees who not only could not copy Barcelona but in fact couldn't even make a 2 yard pass to a team mate. The mood on here has been positive on the back of recent wins but it's not long ago since most were having some doubts as to whether El Cif was the right man for a relegation dogfight. Stoke and Millwall away. What can we do about it? Let the old girl rock from when the teams walk out on Wednesday night to 20 minutes after the final whistle. No excuses. We did our part in the 90s with bucket collections to pay the players wages and at Hillsboro when we needed to win to go up and 8000 went to cheer them on. Now get behind them. Doubts? Let's keep them to ourselves. I can't read the match day thread during the game because I'm convinced I will jinx it. I believe I am the supporter with the reverse midas touch who logs in when they are winning 1-0 and snatches defeat from the jaws from victory. I will continue to have a squeaky bum until we are mathematically safe. But one thing I try to avoid doing is contributing immediately to the suicidal nay homicidal doom and gloom when things don't go our way.
Apparently a bunch of over excited QPR fans got pepper sprayed by the old bill at the station after the game. Put a few trains back by half an hour. All clear by the time I got there after post match thirst quenchers and analysis in the pub, about 6:45. CORRECTION: Apparently it was a Leicester fan kicking off.
That's sad to read. Aren't we allowed to celebrate or were the police Leicester fans? I have one friend who is a LC fan and he got a message from me last night. We've suffered long enough!
What is noticable about the 1st goal is that Illias busts a gut to get up with Dykes where's the Leicester defender with the big hair, Choudry (?) just ambles back and then stops on the edge of the area when he should be tracking Illias's run.... the Leicester manager should give him a bollocking for his lack of desire.... did they just expect to turn up and win?
That really is very nice from Willock. The strong rumour from LFW is that his Dad is his agent and is not exactly wise counsel for him. Would be nice if he realises playing for Cifuentes will be (1) fun and (2) good for his career and he then signs an extension. Probably past that now though sadly.
Yeh, can’t see him staying on. He’s picking up his form at the right time for a new signing. If that contributes to keeping us up then so be it. A salary open for a new player to take up his position I guess. Stay up and we’ll all be looking forwards and we’ll move on to better things hopefully.
