We stayed up last year with 49. In the last dozen years, only Blackburn (51 points) and a very unlucky Peterborough (54 points) have gone down with more than 50.
Failing doing what I suggested I take your point, however we are in danger of getting into relegation fight this season and that can’t be allowed to happen, I said the same after WBA with Nige in charge, but he pulled it around, I see no reason to say any different for this guy.
Congratulations on improving your GD by one goal yesterday Sparkey - only 7 more wins like that and you’ll match ours……
I'll take the points column thanks R&W. Anyway, looking at the midweek fixures - us at home to 'Udders and you at the real Tractor boys - it might not take us 7 more games.
Not relevant - you're just proving the point R&W. Yes, we'd have gone down, but Reading would have had 50 points and stayed up - Wigan were doomed anyway.
I hope you’re right Supcon - this has certainly been true in the past but we are starting to look over our shoulders now and it’s becoming urgent. Our inability to beat average teams like Cardiff or poor teams like SW or QPR have been our nemesis for years. We could add Stoke to that little list too. Teams struggle until they meet us!!
Average? Average? When did we get that good then? Don't forget QPR beat Leicester yesterday so perhaps your loss to them wasn't as bad as it seemed.
Based on league position Clingo. Sheff W and QPR now winning - perhaps we were simply unlucky to meet them when we did? Who knows, but the table doesn’t lie.
It says a lot about our firepower when our right back is joint top scorer. The more I read on here the more I realise that we are two clubs with similar problems. However, we're all suckers for it and we'll remain loyal regardless.
We should all know by now where our biggest problems lie and when they lie at the feet of incompetence there is no hope of redemption. As an afterthought I jus opened my presents and have got a book on football stadium history and there is a long chapter on Ashton Gate and photographs of it through the years. Will be an interesting read.
