And therein lies the problem. Any striker in the world is going to struggle to score goals in our team, because there is zero service into the striker.

We may as well play without a striker and play with an extra 10.

If its Hemir then we need crosses in the box, if it Rusyn then it's longer quick balls forward both of which we very rarely do.

As an attacking threat we look devoid of ideas apart from a slow build up that gives the other team time to get organised

We basically do anyway as the striker has to drop deep to even get a sniff of the ball.

My view is that Rusyn grafts but will never be good in that 9 role, Burstow and Hemir are simply not ready / not good enough. We are trying to juggle things to compensate for substandard players.

Rusyn is clearly a left sided forward, his stats from his previous club show he played that position the most and was effective.

He can't play there for us as Clarke plays there, but as Clarke is injured, why not try it?

The answer to that is - Hemir and Burstow. Both even worse.

Rusyn is by far and away our best 9, even if his natural position is coming in from the left, he offers more than the others as a striker.

Was thinking more along the lines of it'll take maybe 3/4 games to unknitt Beale's instructions, and go back to like Mogga but with small tweaks, i.e the Leeds and West Brom games.

That was only at Zorya Luhansk though. I saw a while back that across his whole career he's played more at CF. I agree with your point though, he has played there regularly and with Clarke out he'd be worth a try.

The stats I found said he was far more effective as the left sided forward. I will dig them out to sense check myself.

Either way with Clarke missing it's a no brainer to give him a run there

Could well be the case, I just looked up positions he'd played most.

That doesn’t mean he’s good at it though and doesn’t mean it’s fair to play him there. This issue up top is massively affecting our play.

Another very long tiring and ultimately disappointing day. My view very poor performance all over the park, slow boring build up and passes putting other players in trouble. Distribution from the back to midfield is poor players under pressure from opposition as soon as they get the ball. Possession given away so cheaply and it is evident that confidence throughout the team is very low. Norwich were as poor as us at times but if I'm being honest we never looked like we would score. The coach seems to think we played well but myself and many others around me would disagree with him. I dread to think what a bad performance would look like if that wasn't one. Ba looked lively in his sub appearance and Rigg looks every bit a quality footballer. Hemir just isn't ready I've seen more movement in a tramps vest but in his defence there just is no service to our forwards. Patterson looks like he has the weight of the world on his shoulders and looks very unhappy at the minute. A big week ahead for the club with two very hard games. Finally well done to our supporters backed the lads on a miserable afternoon had very little to cheer but did so with wit and humour you get at football matches. On we go to Tuesday.

I found a more positive tweet to balance out the one below but Twitter / X refreshed and it vanished! It basically said about fans needing to show patience as we were in League 1 only a couple of seasons ago.

Not sure what's happened at SAFC...but the current vibe isn't right. Nearly every fan, pundit, ex player etc etc have said the same the same thing. WE NEED A STRIKER...Speakman simply hasn't delivered on the number one priority which in his corporate speak..is a dereliction of duty. No manager ....Mowbray, Neal, Dodds or whoever comes next cannot compete when we don't have something we have needed for over one year now. It isn't good enough. We have had the money from Stewart which should should have gone into a replacement. Speakman isn't doing his job and whoever is the manager will suffer for his inactivity.

Not long ago Prichard was on the bench and couldn’t get a game
Prichard managed to get a few games and became our best players
    So we sell him
All them players yesterday were no where near the standard of Prichard and he was sold
    Just saying like
