Results elsewhere are ok. But Cheltenham becomes critical again. Lose and we’re right back in the brown stuff.
This might be controversial, but I agree with you I think the current bottom three will go down and I can’t now see us being the worst of the seven other teams that are in the mix for the final place.
Must admit, I'm now convinced that Nathan Jones can keep Charlton up The strength of belief among the team is the critical factor now. Can it withstand a defeat and still bounce back? There will be more defeats. But I'm feeling now that there will be enough character to ride them out. Still ten games to go, so it is a long way. And mere survival in this league is a lamentable target to have to aim for. But we are where we are. 4th Division would be a massive disaster.
To concentrate on the present, we're gradually 'getting there'. Knowing my football, it looks like Moore will get Port Vale out of trouble so it's one team from six for the final relegation spot. We're now 6? unbeaten so on a run, but cannot be complacent. A shame about my grand
I agree about the Cheltenham game. Northampton are a decent team, but they are mid-table. No real chance of making the top 6. Cheltenham are fighting for their 3rd tier life. If they do beat us it will be a blow. But based on our recent run of results I don't think it would be a fatal one. The team would have to show the character I now hope they have, and scrap out a result elsewhere.
I have worried about our 4 aways in March. IF we can come out of this healthy and unscathed I'm optimistic of staying up.
