What I want to know is when are we going see Van Hooydonk? What's the point in having a hungry and talented young striker if he's not going to get his boots dirty?
I think we’ve seen him play about as much as Wagner and team have planned for him to play - ie an option off the bench each game. I think he’s only going to make starts if Sargent is out of acation again. He was a like-for-like replacement for Idah in that sense. I was slightly disappointed not to see him come on against Blackburn, but Wagner clearly thought Barnes was best to be the impact sub and I think that was probably planned before the match.
