Unsurrisingly, Maddison hasn't got back to his pre injury form. While we ate dominating the ball but have lacked quality creating chances. Our only chance fell to Werner with predicable results.
And that is exactly why we should never be passing to Timo Werner, absolutely ****ing useless clown in front of goal.
A few weeks ago we did try Bentancur as a 6 and Sarr in his usual 8 position, and it wouldn't surprise me if this is closer to the longterm plan
Loads of possession, but nothing approaching a chance for the past 20 minutes. Palace - like most recent opposition - have our number and we lack any real threat. Desperately need a goal from somewhere or this has another 0-1 all over it..
Pretty naff half… again, becoming a recurring theme this. Should be 1-0 though but Timo Werner “Werner’d” it, which came to no one’s surprise. Quicker the summer comes and we palm him back off to Leipzig the better.
A bit uninspired but slightly improving as the half went on. Kulusevski looks reluctant to drive forward so most of our threat comes through Werner. We look stale
Werner has been our most positive forward. Maddison and Son being intercepted too often and Kulu strangely negative.
Been completely isolated. Kulu’s keeping up his recent poor form and Werner is Werner. Maddison also failing to get a hold of the game from a creative aspect.
Not just that. We aren't even creating chances for better players to miss The MF lacks intensity and looks lethargic. Bissouma and Bentancur are not really gelling and without any real pace in the middle, Palace can manage us easily
I actually thought Bissouma and Bentancur have probably been our best two players, Bissouma’s best game in a long while in my opinion. Maddison so far the weakest of the midfield three for me. Seems to have not had that spark since returning, whereas early season he was creating multiple chances a game. Wonder if, like Bentancur was, he was brought back too early(?).
