Udogie could be back, Porro still a week away and Richarlison out for 2-3 weeks. Was hoping to hear news about Solomon but nothing said. Sonny through the middle now I’d imagine, him and Maddison were class together earlier in the season.
He was a decent goalscorer from that position in Germany, but he's not from out wide. Given our players' reticence to give him the ball, it might not be the best idea, though.
Many generally look a decent scorer in Germany though. It’s very much a stat padding league. His finishing in England is more telling of his quality in front of goal - or lack of. He's one of the few forwards I know that has multiple miss compilations scattered throughout YouTube and Twitter, lol. I do genuinely wonder if refusing to pass to him is a conscious thing amongst our players.
Looks like Richy and Porro out. Hopefully Destiny makes it. Not going to be able to watch this game but we need a win and importantly, a performance. Vic Emerson Romero VdV Udogie Sarr Bissouma Maddison Kulu Son Werner Be nice to see Scarlett get some mins off the bench if we can give him some time at 9.
If we went on paper and in form then that midfield three would essentially be our best but Sarr’s form this season makes it a little harsh to drop him. Interested to see how it goes though. Emerson and Werner however… it’s like there’s a stipulation at Spurs to have at least 1-2 rotters in the XI at any given time.
Bissouma over Sarr? Really? Well, the former had better turn up today - as indeed should Kulusevski. Bench is pretty strong in everything bar goals.
It makes sense as Ange sees Bissouma as a No6 and Sarr as a No8 The question is whether the midfield functions with Bissouma as a 6 and Bentancur as an 8, as it does feel we're still trying to find a working midfield combination to get Bentancur and Maddison on the pitch at the same time
