There is nowhere near the interest in tomorrow's game. It seems others this side prefer arguing about past managers. The Pearson sacking by the son of our benefactor and LM's 'slow' start has killed the passion normally associated for this game, and for that matter, the rest of the season. After the summer break, some will come back on here forecasting promotion. An impossible task for us this side of the bridge.
Good points RP but as usual members dictate conversation and the paths they follow and thank god we've got them that do, we all know tomorrow is going to be a tough task after recent events, LJ & Nige got the sack after a Cardiff game, let's hope Manning pulls it off tomorrow.
. If you can get him sharper do you think his time at cardiff could be a springboard to a move to Bishop Sutton?
Sparkey after the two lacklustre performances i only see one result and that is your guys going back across the bridge with three points. For me and many others the new guy reminds me so much off another manager we had who ran out of steam John Lansdown new puppet has a long long way to go to convince the fans he is right for the job
Come on RR you're odds on to win this one. We've got our reservations about our own guy over here, but it's got to be all about how much the players want it themselves, not just the manager.
Honestly we were Absolutely shocking in those last two games.Bristol Rovers would have beat us that is how bad we were.
It’s an item that came out in December, we knew about it back then. It does not include Scott’s transfer. They done it a month early not to take his transfer fee so this years his transfer should put us as zero.
Are you suggesting that if Holden had stayed we would’ve stayed up?, if that was the case why were we all calling for him to go.
He should never ever been appointed, and we was on a losing run. But the safety points really came from beating Boro and Swansea. We was not that great following those two games but to say that it was down to Nige is an overstatement. Where he done well in keeping us safe was the next two seasons. In regards to keeping us on the side of FFP was really down to Gould.
"Match Day Thread Season 2023 - 2024 - Match #35 - Brizzle City Away - Time for the cross border incursion" https://www.not606.com/threads/seas...:text=Match Day Thread, cross border incursion Just in case you fancy a different view!!
Agree to differ, I don’t see how you can differentiate between the seasons, and either way it’s irrelevant, whether the initial season, or the following, the fact is he kept us up, had Holden stayed I’m convinced we’d have been relegated. Of course the financial dealings were down to Gould, Nige’s part was to keep us up, often using academy players as that’s all we had. Bringing Scott and Semenyo through during that time also had financial implications though. We can argue they were already here, or Scott was a one off, but without Nige picking them, and the coaches bringing them on absolutely helped our finances.
The whole situation at Bristol City is the usual mix of promises, half-truths and wishful thinking and so I'm just going to focus on the game against our old rivals Cardiff City, and hope we can win. Anything else is old rhetoric that led us nowhere and managers of our past are no use to us now so let's get on with it and let the chips fall where they may.
Anyway.. back to the thread!! Decent performance is required today and would be good to get back to winning ways.. LM is currently our coach and we should be all backing him, including RR & Ashton!!!
