I don't normally do this but I've gone early and had a decent bet on Saturday's match. I expect the price to fall and it is doing that now. No messing around and I can't see a problem. Although confident they must find a way of creating more shooting chances instead of over playing it.

Bit gutting that Donny was called off yesterday, our other 2 tips was shocking❌

    WOLVERHAMPTON

    1.32 - ARTISAN DANCER 2/1 (1 point win)

I know between me and Nate we’ve tipped this one a couple of times lately but looks worth sticking by. Has form figures of 222232 at this track and remains on the same mark after finishing a close 4th at Lingfield on Sunday. Drops back down in trip which isn’t a bad thing and looks the one to beat.

    4.07 - HALE END 16/1 (1 point EW)

Picked up his second success when landing a Class 5 at Newcastle last month, although wasn’t as good back there 12 days later. Has something to prove again now after that and this is a competitive looking handicap but with 4 places on offer he looks a big price and holds each way claims.

    KEMPTON

    3.10 - BENTLEYS RETURN 6/1 (1 point EW)

Placed in two bumpers towards the end of last season and made an encouraging start to hurdling life when finished 3rd at Fontwell then followed up on that with a good 3rd of 13 at Plumpton. Makes handicap debut here and open to plenty of more progression yet, holds each way claims.

Total points suggested - 3 points.

We end yesterday level after just the 1 winner at 2/1, today’s racing at Newbury looks class but only the 3 meetings today since both Uttoxeter and Warwick have been abandoned.

    NEWBURY

    12.55 - MAKING HEADWAY 5/4 (1 point win)

Has a solid record in Novice Hurdles since switching to rules. He won at Carlisle in a Class 4 then finished runner-up in a Grade 2 at Haydock in November. Was upped in grade again when finishing 4th in a Grade 1 at Aintree in December. Looks to have the best chance judged on ratings and drops back down in class today.

    1.30 - KYNTARA 3/1 (1 point win)

Only lightly raced for an 8yo and won his first two starts for this yard towards the end of last year, might of completed the hat trick at Warwick before an error at the last and stumbling. Been a progressive sort and looks the one to beat on his day.

    2.40 - EDWARDSTONE 6/5 (1 point win)

If EDWARDSTONE is at the top of his game then he should prove to simply be too good for these. He’s a two-time Grade 1 winner and was previously a good 2nd to Jonbon in the Grade 1 Tingle Creek. BOOTHILL has been in some good form and will probably pose as the biggest danger, if any mistakes from EDWARDSTONE he will capitalise.

    3.15 - LOOKAWAY 10/1 (1 point EW) & KAMSINAS 20/1 (0.5 point EW)

LOOKAWAY is a dual Grade 2 winner and has form figures of 11122 so far this term. Finished runner-up on soft ground the last twice in a Grade 3 at Cheltenham and a Grade 1 here. Still looks like he might have further progress in him yet and holds each way claims with 6 places on offer.

KAMSINAS is unraced on heavy ground but been a useful novice hurdler. Finished runner-up to LOOKAWAY at Cheltenham in October but that was by only just under 3 lengths. Followed that up with a victory at Haydock before being well-held at Aintree in a Grade 1 but he’s another with potential to improve further and looks a massive price.

    WOLVERHAMPTON

    8.30 - FLY THE NEST 25/1 (0.5 point EW)

Had a fine run of form last winter but is yet to find that same form since his summer break. He’s edging down through the weights currently though and he’s the type that will end up bouncing back soon.

Total points suggested - 5 points.

There’s nothing I’m confident on at Lingfield today so going to stick with just Ayr, might send something out for Newcastle later on but we’ll see how we get on today first.

    AYR

    2.15 - NETYWELL 2/1 (1 point win)

Enjoys a cut in the ground and arrives here after what was a comfortable success at Haydock over 2m on heavy ground. He was only against 3 rivals that day and his main market rival was below par. Has to cope with a 7lb rise here which sees him run from a career high mark but should be tough to beat still if producing the same as last time out.

    2.45 - MONOCHROMIX 9/1 (1 point EW)

Finished runner-up on seasonal reappearance/handicap debut at Hexham in October, was disappointing last month though when pulled up at Musselburgh. Now making chase debut and needs improvement but worth taking a chance on.

3.55 - LADY IN THE PARK 7/2 (1 point win)

Built upon earlier promise when keeping on well to win a Wetherby Novice on Boxing Day, now stepping up in triple could bring out even more from this one and looks the one to stick by.

Well, I have to be honest, I took a fair hit on that losing bet v Swansea on Saturday. I don't mind losing but when you get a performance like that it doesn't leave you in the best of moods. Licking my wounds, I'm not sure what sort of bet I'll be going for tonight but it won't be anything flash. If they lose tonight serious questions need to asked but I'm expecting a win by 2 goals - that's done that then.

    HEREFORD

    2.30 - GOLDEN DE COEUR 11/4 (1 point win)

The favourite certainly looks the one to beat here but worth taking a chance on GOLDEN DE COEUR who’s showed a good level of form. Two time point winner over 3m and has also placed on all three starts over hurdles. Made a mistake at the final flight at Sedgfield last month which probably cost him the win that day, steps up in trip here and could pose as a big threat to this favourite.

    3.00 - GETBAZOUTOFHERE 10/1 (1 point EW)

Still a maiden after 13 starts however, he has made the frame on all three appearances so far this season. Finished a close 4th at Leicester last month on his chase debut which he could build upon today and looks worth an each way bet.

    FONTWELL

    2.50 - ECLAIR DE GUYE 7/1 (1 point EW)

Hasn’t had a win since December 2020 but previously to that did pick up 3 wins with one being here. Runs from a career low mark now and holds each way claims.

    HAYDOCK

    3.15 - CHAMBARD 20/1 (1 point EW)

Been going backwards and forwards through this race, we’ve got 4 places on offer with most bookies so going to take a chance on CHAMBARD. I did have my eyes set on IWILLDOIT as the each way option but think CHAMBARD is better value. IRON BRIDGE has a lot of potential still and will likely be there come the end. CHAMBARD won at the Cheltenham Festival in 2022 but then had a bit of a patchy season last term. Bounced back this season though when finishing a good runner-up at Cheltenham and then beat COKO BEACH by 13 lengths at Aintree in the Becher Handciap Chase. Possibly found the Welsh Grand National coming too soon after the Aintree run when pulled up but did make some mistakes early on the final circuit. Still 7lb higher than Aintree success so will need a career best again here but holds each way claims.

    3.50 - CASTLE RUSHEN 14/1 (1 point EW)

Got back on track when placing in handicap hurdles at Newcastle in March and Perth in April after not taking to fences last winter. He’s been absent since the Perth run in April and this is a bit of hot race to return in but he’s got the ability to be thereabouts and holds each way claims if he’s ready for this.

    ASCOT

    1.15 - PIC ROC 12/1 (1 point EW)

Showed some good form in his first two starts over hurdles and gave the impression that he may of won at Catterick if he had a better jump at the last but only finished less than a length behind the odds on favourite HASTHING that day. He’s likely to improve from that run and holds each way claims here.

    1.50 - APPLE AWAY 7/4 (1 point win)

Won the Grade 1 Sefton Novices’ Hurdle at Aintree last April and has shown good promise over fences in her last 3 runs. Won at Leicester in December before finishing runner-up in a Grade 2 Novice last month. Looks to be a the one to beat today and receives weight all round.

    2.25 - ISSAM 12/1 (1 point EW)

Been a very likeable sort and made it 4 wins from 11 runs when winning at Exeter in December. He followed that up with a good 2nd at Sandown last month and wouldn’t be a surprise to see him give his running once again here. Only downside he is creeping up through the weights and this is a much more competitive field but we’ve got 5 places on offer and he holds each way claims.

    4.10 - SUPREME GIFT 20/1 (1 point EW)

Another race where we’ve got 4 places on offer and I feel that SUPREME GIFT is worth taking a chance on at a big price, won three of his five hurdling completions and then sent chasing this term where he won here in November but 2 poor shows followed after that. Returns back to hurdling today with first-time headgear applied and needs to bounce back with stamina to prove as he’s only tackled around 3m once which was on Chase debut when a well-held 3rd of the 4 that finished.

    WINCANTON

    3.42 - THE BOLD THADY 8/1 (1 point EW)

Currently 0-11 over hurdles but has made the frame in all 7 of his handicap starts since being fitted with cheekpieces. Shouldn’t be far away if he’s ready for this after 9 months off and holds each way claims.

Total points suggested - 7 points.

    TAUNTON

    2.10 TAUNTON - TRIBESMAN GLORY 11/1 - 4 paid 0.5 EW

Looks a scrappy novice race this and very open. The ground is now heavy and there is a decent turn out for this with 13 runners. TRIBESMAN GLORY has experience on his side, along with 3 fair efforts over the past 6 months. He ran ok LTO at a higher class but a 3rd place before that is best form on show- he’s 3lbs lower today and has place credentials in an open race.

    3.40 TAUNTON - INTO THE PARK 6/4 - 1 point
    Saver WILD MAX 18/1 - 0.5 EW

WILD MAX has a 5lb claimer on. Won his last race by 15 lengths but has a near 2 year absence to overcome in order to complete a hat trick. 3 places paid here and I presume a combination of the ground and lay off is the reason why theres no love for WILD MAX in the market..

Stable mate INCA DE LAFAYETTE looks a threat to our selection and Harry Cobden has picked him over WILD MAX due to his likely chances… however the fav looks the one to be on side with today. This son of Walk in the park looked very solid LTO out at Newbury and has the potential to win better races than this if he can continue his good work on the track.

    MARKET RASEN

    2.25 - NINE NINE NINE 13/2 - 0.5 EW win

BREAKDANCE KID looks a worthy favorite and rates the one to beat. NINE NINE NINE arrives in form and represents the value. Both horses arrive on wins and up a few lbs in the handicap. There's only 7 runners here and 3 paid with most bookies so I’m giving NINE NINE NINE ago based on that value.

    3.25 - OOH BETTY 11/8 - 1 point win

A Hereford class 3 win by nearly 10 lengths gave connections confidence to try OOH BETTERin the feature race at Lingfield in January. She went off at 40/1 and ran a huge race in a brilliant battle with Aston Martini. This is a drop in class if she runs to the same standard today she will be winning I reckon!
