The Guardian is not impartial. It has a dog in the game, and it's easy to manipulate statistics. There are plenty of articles showing how bad crime is under Khan, and his attempts at cover up. Here's one

I don't defend Tory policy on crime. It's been woeful since Theresa May, which is part of the reason I won't be voting for them

I'd say the Guardian is rather less partial than GB News. Your claim that 'London has become a crime-ridden ****hole under Khan' is just plain wrong and the Crime Survey figures demonstrate that crime rates in London are no worse, and often better, than in the rest of the country.

So the number has risen from 108 to 114 compared to the previous year. A small rise in one year, what about comparisons to other years and other areas of the country?

GB News certainly isn't impartial but there is always a balance from The Left. I doubt there exists a wholly impartial news outlet.
Khan doesn't take the whole rap. He inherited the Met after all. But I've not seen him show any interest in the appalling crime in London. He's much happier inventing dumb names for tube lines.
Not sure why you'd raise the Dan Wootton story when discussing impartiality. The Guardian was one of a number of publications that published an article stating that Wootton was under police investigation, which he was. GB News exists only to be biased towards parties of the right and far right.
As I've shown, crime in London is no worse than the rest of the country. When you start ranting in a similar manner about crime in the West Midlands - which is worse - I'll believe that your obsession with Khan isn't just because he's a Labour mayor, or worse, a Muslim.
Oh, and the 'dumb' names are for Overground lines, not the tube. Anyone who knows London would know that.

I don't believe The Guardian, or that West Midlands crime is worse than London. I've been critical of both the Tories and Khan on crime, so I don't see why you should accuse me of bias. "Muslim" doesn't bother me, unless the mayor is showing favouritism, or bringing in Islamic practices.
Overground or underground, I really don't give a ****. The names are still dumb, and Khan can do better than close his eyes to (particularly) violent crime. Even left wing news outlets have been critical of him.

I used that article to show an increase in London crime. The problem in using those insurance figures to compare crime between cities, is the numbers don't distinguish between types of crime. A bike theft has the same weighting as a fatal stabbing. That's why you get a nonsensical result that Grimsby has worse crime than London. It could be shoplifting and twoc-ing
Under Khan's 8 years in office, 1000 plus Londoners have been murdered, with knife crime at record high levels. It's perhaps no coincidence that high on the news agenda last night were thugs on a moped in Clapham who shot 3 people with a shotgun. Khan is refusing to give the Met Police £70m to bolster its force, yet the weekly hate marches take officers from other protection they could be providing around the capital. Khan is happy to give the unions £30m for tube workers and spunk over £6m on a few woke names for railway lines. His priorities are wrong.

Yes, interesting. London had the worst homicide recorded in 22/23 apart from NE England. It must be bad up there, yet I've seen nothing in the press. Clearly, the London problem is Inner, not Greater
You chose the Churchill stats, not me. I gave you numbers from the ONS Crime Survey, which also showed London in a better light compared to other parts of the country.
Those stats show London had lower homicide rates than Cleveland, Gwent, Bedfordshire, Merseyside, West Mercia, Northumbria, Humberside, Durham, South Yorkshire. Northamptonshire and West Midlands.

Below states that London had the second worst homicide rate in the UK for 2022/23. However, when looking at Greater London, it is lower than many other police forces. I read this as Inner London putting the average up substantially higher to make London the second worst. Otherwise, how do you explain that first sentence?

We're addressing your obsession with Sadiq Khan, who is mayor of Greater London, so those are the statistics that are relevant. These show homicides in the Met Police area are at a lower rate than those in no fewer than eleven other police areas.
I'm done with this topic now. If your problem is with under-funding of the Met, I suggest you direct your ire towards the Home Secretary rather than the Mayor because 70% of Met funding comes from the Home Office.
