The threats to the aid always existed, even their own admittance of having to make a corrider with tanks is evidence they understood that risk, yet they still seem to suggest they were blindsided by this (my use of words not theirs). Ffs it didn't take any working out, if you got starving people, they are going to look after themeselves and family (quite rightly) and loot the trucks, I know I would. Lib Dems this week suggested sanctions on right wing Israeli politicians. Its not a bad idea, sanctions would absolutely cripple Israel and they would sharp change their tune. The issue? Simple. Mate, same old thing in war torn areas. Soldiers on edge, ready to kill, are to panicked by a sudden surge of a crowd. They've probably been informed "they hide in groups keep an eye out." When your gun has a clip of 30 rounds it only takes a handful to open fire for 100 to die. Those soldiers should have been ordered to fall back before the convoy reached the crowd.
I agree with you. Although I don't think the aid was intended for them, hence why the soldiers were there, to give it safe passage. I'm actually surprised this hasn't happened before now, although I suspect it has, so what changed this time for it to go so wrong. I actually thought Hamas armed men guided some of the past convoys, but that was probably under the aid charity before they all got booted out,
