Great player. I was ER the day after it came out about his Mrs running off with the milkman, we played QPR, he got dogs all game but took it in his stride, came up towards the Gelderd to take a corner, faced us a took a bow, he got cheered off and his name sung as he left the field. The same day, when I saw the lowest ever away attendance at ER, 2 QPR fans in the corner and 3 jumped up in the seats when they scored.
" Not sure if that’ll work. Anyway a very sad day. Before my time obviously but my dad was very upset even though it had been coming for a while. He was 15 for the 1976 team which should have won the league.
He would probably be stifled by today Managers/Head Coaches and not even five England caps with Southgate
Been watching a lot of Curb your Enthusiasm recently and its been announced Richard Lewis has just died. RIP old fella
Couldn’t happen now. We finished the season and they had three games left and had to win them all and did, relegating Wolves in the last one. We ****ed it though losing at Norwich towards the end and drawing at Sheff U who were ****e, so I’m told.
I was at that Norwich game ( on a boating holiday in the area ) and knew you had blown it when you lost, as an aside there was a disturbance in your fans pen which confused the Plod and everyone watching frpm the other end .
