Reminds me of the the Slow Horses scene where he goes for his MI5 medical. Something like. Dr - How much do you drink? Jackson - 2 or 3 bottles a week. Dr - Wine? J - No, scotch Dr………. J - Well how much am I supposed to drink? Dr - 14 Units a week. J - Well that’s what I have, write it down. Dr - I can’t lie… J - You’re not. I am. Dr - OK…what about smoking J - None. I stopped Dr - Wow…you?…how long ago J - About 20 minutes ago.
My father used to say that you didn't live longer if you stopped drinking, time just slowed down, so it felt longer.
‘When the dust settles’, by Professor Lucy Easthope is a fascinating read. Points out that the UK had a complete plan for dealing with a pandemic, because she was involved in writing it. And part of it was very targeted protection for vulnerable people, not wide lockdowns of children for example. It’s just that there was a choice not to follow the plan. Not just about Covid and worth a read IMHO
I did write to Graham Stuart asking why the U.K. plan had been abandoned in favour of steps recommended by the WHO (bearing mind that’s an organisation run by the Chinese, North Korea and everyone’s favourite human being, Bill Gates). I never got a reply. Conspiracy theorists are beginning to look like the sanest human beings on the planet right now!
Were the steps taken those recommended by the WHO? I’m genuinely not sure tbh Think it’s more likely that people who should have known what the plans already in place said…didn’t More likely, if it was the case, they followed WHO advice because they didn’t know who to speak to here and felt they needed to be seen to do some things. Incompetence rather than conspiracy. Big issue of course is plans also included what would likely happen and what needed to be put in place to minimise long term impacts.
That'll be Peter Theodore Alphege Rees-Mogg, one of his more 'normally' named sons. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
George Burns had the right idea. After he turned 40, every morning at 11 a.m. he'd stroll down to his local newsagent, bring the local rag back home to his kitchen, skimmed the obituaries section and if he couldn't see his name in the listings, he'd light up one of his 9 inch havanas and drink another pot of coffee (with a nip of scotch therein.) He died aged 100. please log in to view this image please log in to view this image
Great sketch playing on his supposed tightfistedness which he made great play of. https://youtube.com/shorts/3medZdEBcTg?si=dLwI-eXYwjxRPBwT
Some great thoughts from George Burns. A poster from Chesire even used to one about playing pool with a rope the other day.
I saw Vitimin D was trending on twitter...another covid conspiracy theory being proved true, did the so called experts get anything right ?
I am on vitamin d supplements to counter the effects of other medication. That must be why I didn’t get covid. That or the jabs I had…
Generally I don't bother nowadays, this thread mostly features people with their underpants on their head, pencils up their noses, and repeatedly saying 'dibble'. However, the above comment is bollocks. The medical advice was to take Vit D supplements, because they're good for you, but that there was no evidence that it improved Covid outcomes. That was because until recently, there was no evidence. Now this study has been done, there is evidence, so no doubt the medical advice will change slightly. That's how science works. OK, that's it, you can go back to saying 'dibble'.
How come people like you are full of hate, not once during this covid debate have i resorted to personal insults unlike you and several others on here, on each topic you have being eventaully proved wrong ! Maybe next time have more of a open mind, debate the topic and leave the personal attacks out !
And like a lot of research, simple search brings the opposite postulation... https://www.the-scientist.com/vitamin-d-likely-doesn-t-prevent-covid-19-studies-find-70473
That's just the from first 2 pages of the many many posts from you on this thread. It's not a personal insult to say you're an idiot, not if you keep proving it with the conspiracy bollocks. P.S. I should make one apology though, it is of course, as pointed out, 'wibble'.
