Nicklas Bendtner would consider a permanent move to Sunderland despite having no chance of playing in the Champions League.
Bendtner left Arsenal for a season-long loan on the final day of the summer transfer window and has been enjoying regular starts with the Black Cats.
The Denmark striker does miss Europe's premier club competition but insists staying on Wearside beyond the end of the season does appeal.

Options: Nicklas Bendtner could extend his Sunderland stay beyond May
He said: 'I have not ruled out staying here, but I have not spoken so much about it. I just want to enjoy the year I have here and then see what happens in the summer.
'I have never hidden the fact I am very keen to play in the Champions League again, but I also read I had said if I do not play in the Champions League I will not be playing for Sunderland. But then, that is how they do it. They always misinterpret Danish into English.
'As a player you should have ambition – every player you speak to wants to play in the Champions League.'

The 23-year-old was used sparingly by Arsene Wenger towards the end of his time with Arsenal but he has made eight appearances for Sunderland and scored two goals.
He added: 'It has been nice to be at a club where you feel wanted. You just have to try and make the most of that.
'It is not nice to be not playing and it just gets you down basically. You are not happy unless you are playing week in, week out.
'It does not matter where you are and what league you are playing – you want to be playing. You do not want to be stuck.
'There is not much more to say. If you are not playing, everything else in your life is rubbish.

would like to see him with a proper partner

Would love it if he signed for us.

SB should make sure he signs somebody to partner him, somebody Bendy wants to play alongside and that means a top quality strike partner.

If we show ambition then he (bendy) could very easily be a permanent signing for us next season.

If all goes to plan with Fraziers recovery and we were able to get NB permanently then i think we've got a good young strike force. NB, Wickham, Campbell and then Ji and Noble and still developing.

He hasn't ruled us out? Well there's the remark of a player fully comitted to the Sunderland cause.... Hopefully he scores a few more goals before he does rule us out...

I'm quite suprised Bruce would bring in a player with ambition. As with the fans, Bendtner really ought to lower his expectations.

Bendtner won't sign permanently for a bottom half, relegation haunted club imo and thats exactly where we will be come May under Bruce.
