No shame in that performance, it was never a 3-0 and if we score 1 or 2 in the first half we maybe go on and win the game, Charles and Aribo certainly did step up tonight.
Blue line now, no more distractions let's get back into the winning habit, play like that and we'll be in with a shout of going up.

His passing wasn't great but his positioning was good and he did make a number of key interceptions. I whole heartedly agree he needs to take more care with the ball but he was far from awful tonight.

Very fine margins mate. That scoreline so easily could have been opposite

A bit OTT, he played a big part in our unbeaten run when he was playing in his best position (8), one misplaced pass when he wasn't up to speed in the game doesn't change that.
He was forced into a deeper role since Downes was injured and maybe has lost a bit of his mojo, maybe Aribo deserves to start ahead of him right now but that midfield 3 of Downes (6), Smallbone (8) and Stuey (roaming) has been the engine room for our best performances this season.

I would take Aribo every day of the week over Smallbone and twice on match day

You’re taking out of context. This was before tonight, before the Hull game. Seemed a bit weird & ott. Tonight, yes mistake but still poor. I agree tho he’s no DM but that’s what RM’s been using him for whilst Downes has been out & that’s the situ whichever way you paint it.

My point is that his performances were good when he played in his more natural position and everyone agrees he is not really a DM and his form has suffered recently. That doesn't mean that he won't be good again as an 8 but he may have to wait as Aribo has been very good there since he came back.

So we agree he’s a poor DM. That’s what I was saying by RM bigging him up.

I had a dig at Rothwell after Millwall, but he had a pretty good game tonight before being subbed, most cohesive he has looked.
