why wasn't having a go i think there are a multitude of better bands around at the same time also too many buy into the guff saying they are icons/legends just because others say so. a personal opinion nothing more

This is simply incredible. The best song off one of the best albums of all time, performed live, and done brilliantly too.

Agree with this definitely, though I would fall short of calling them ****. I think Revolver is a great album (except for Yellow Submarine which is just awful) and there are tracks accross their other later albums that I enjoy too but certainly they get far, far too much praise. To me they're the perfect example to prove that the word overrated doesn't mean ****; good band with a great album and some good songs elsewhere but the way some people talk about them being genius or the true godfathers of modern music is crazily exaggerated.

They played a very public role as part of a very creative music movement that is for sure, but some seem to conveniently forget that they weren't the only band around at the time.

I love every band youve posted Secret id say that Hendrix and the Rolling Stones can be held in close regard to the Beatles. I like the Doors but personally think they were over-rated by the demise of Morrison, although I admit the same could be said about Lennon/Harrison. But to me the Beatles are just amazing, they practically invented Heavy Metal in 1968 with Helter Skelter and were not afraid at all to chop and change the music they made. They could have continued to make poppy rock'n'roll and raked in millions but they did what they wanted and I honestly believe that the moment they stopped touring to work on albums after Rubber Soul was the greatest thing they ever did. Very few albums hold a candle to the White Album, Revolver, Rubber Soul, Let It Be, Sgt. Peppers, Help, Abbey Road..... And then there is the singles, Hey Jude, Revolution, We Can Work it Out, Day Tripper.....

I personally think people are too eager to jump on the Beatles bandwagon saying theyre the best band ever when in truth theyve not viewed the full extent of the work they did, which annoys me as a fan. But hey ho heres my top 10 artists

1) Beatles
2) Oasis
3) Fleetwood Mac
4) Jimi Hendrix
5) AC/DC
6) Stevie Wonder
7) Otis Redding
8) KISS
9) David Bowie
10) Prince

But anyway its all opinion with music which is why its so good, although the top 40 today makes me ****ing suicidal.

Neither could I....I was thinking this looking at Samuel's post
