hopefully. if we look at the base kelleher Bradley konate vvd Robertson macallister we know that going to be fit as of now in the next couple of weeks. we are just waiting on Elliott, diaz and endo after the 120mins that's going to be fine on the weekend hopefully. we are then waiting on salah, nunez and szoboszlai and probably for the weekend too. if you wrote szobo, nunez, salah, diaz and endo onto that base above then we are back in business. we just need subs then ao we've tsimiaks, gomez and quansah then gakpo and elliott going forward so really we are light in midfield but it's not too bad. as long as the 3 with hamstrings are in fact OK.
The take it one game at a time saying has never been so prominent, just have to field what we can and hope it's enough.
League points are more important than the cup at this stage, so I don't think we'll risk any of those on the cusp of returning, so yes - cobble together the best we can and see what happens.
Alongside KWP, Harwood-Bellis is our best player, but he's very much a CB not a RB. For some reason, Russell Martin has decided over the past few games that the best thing to do with a winning team is to constantly tinker with it, and confuse the players. Hopefully he's moved on from that now. The team I'd like to see (and with your injury list that I think might have a slight chance): Bazunu KWP Harwood-Bellis Bednarek Manning Aribo Charles A. Armstrong S.Armstrong Sulemana Adams The team I suspect we'll see, which is less likely to have a sniff: Lumley Bree Stephens Harwood-Bellis Meghoma Charles Smallbone A. Armstrong Rothwell Sulemana Mara
is he really going to go do that away to lfc? I know you've league games you need to go play and win coming up as well but that would seem a bit of a stretch in thr 5 round of the fa cup away to lfc when the game is on TV for the great unwashed like us (itv)
He may well do, as getting promoted is priority, even though we look playoff bound. He already said it’s “a game we could do without”, so… I want him to go strong, as I think with your injuries there’s a (small) chance of an upset. When we’re good, we’re actually pretty good - but he also only has one way of playing, which is City-lite. Or Manchester ****ty, if you like. We keep possession and arse around at the back for ages, trying to draw teams on. When that breaks down (as it tends to against better teams) we come unstuck. Plus we have a big weakness at left back. Added to that, the schedule recently has been relentless, so I suspect he’ll not put out a ‘weak’ team, but it certainly won’t be our strongest eleven (though I live in hope).
Well we will likely be toothless and the front 6 should be kids unless we risk macallister and gakpo.
It'll be interesting thats for sure. Kelleher Bradley Gomez Quansah Tsimikas mcconnell Macallister/hill Clark Gordon Danns Gakpo/koumas
Just realised that if we win tonight then the Everton game gets rescheduled. Obviously we'd almost definitely get a tough draw in the QFs, but playing Everton in April or May could be crucial for the league bearing in mind the players we might have back by then.
Bradley rw? if it's a 433 then I'd guess at Elliott gakpo koumas front line but thst puts gomez 6 with clark and McConnell. it's a massive risk with vvd. maybe it's a 45min job
Kelleher gomez quansah vvd tsimikas Elliott McConnell clark bradley gakpo koumas bif mix there. Solid defence though. But responsibility on gakpo to lead that line
