I took my then 7 or 8 yr old daughter to her first ever football match v Reading around 15 years ago.
I was that excited to take her we were inside the ground over an hour before KO. I walked her around the stadium etc and got her a burger etc which she loved. Then about half hour before KO she said can we go home now dad. I said we haven't kicked off yet!
As for the game...when Kenwyn scored our first goal I was jumping about like I would normally do and looked at my daughter who was in tears and sat down still. I asked her what's the matter and she said she got a fright with the sudden noise and jumping about. Bless her. She loved me taking her to the games after that but admitted mainly cos of the burgers!

My son's first game was Kidderminster in the FA Cup 10 years ago. He was 6 years old at the time and was hooked. We got our first ever season tickets the following year

I've mentioned it before on here. I took my lad to his first games when BSA was here Man Utd 2-1 and Chelsea 3-2. I told him not to expect that atmosphere every game. Chelsea was electric.

My lads first game was Burton Albion in the first season of League One. 1-1 draw, Baldwin scored for us. Poor game but it moved us up to 2nd with 6 games remaining. That season ended well… <doh>

Took my oldest son to his first game in 1988 v Bradford City when he was 5. Didn't think he was ready for it but thought I would give it a go, so to help bought seat tickets instead of my regular Fulweel end ticket.
It quickly transpired I was right as he got bored fairly quickly, got restless and ended the first half lying across me.
The half time consisted of some clowns running around, to which he perked up. However, 10 minutes into the second half he quickly got bored again and asked where the clowns had gone. I replied they were still on the pitch but they had put red and white shirts on - straight over his head <laugh> but I still bring up the joke now, much to his amusement :emoticon-0140-rofl:
To be fair he had good judgement at the time as the game petered out to a really boring 0-0 :emoticon-0146-punch

Took my grandson to his first game against Burnley last season. He loved the size of the stadium considering he'd only been in Hartlepool's previously as well as the atmosphere. It was all going so well till the start of the second half!

Didn't stop him wanting to go back and he's seen back to back wins this season against Stoke and Plymouth which got him buzzing, he thought that the reason we weren't winning was because of him

Got 3 free tickets from my wifes friend who won them. took my wife and 5 year old daughter, v Birmingham in our relegation season under Chris Coleman. Finished 1-1, they were down to 10 men for the last half an hour, didnt look like getting the winner. It was pretty grim stuff. Pleased I didnt pay for it, although my wife insisted on getting my daughter a hat, scarf and flag combo. Fortunately the experience didnt grab and if it had have done I would have tried to put her off getting involved.

I think that might have been my first game. I didnt think I was as old as 8 years old at the time though. So unless we drew 0-0 at home to Bradford a season or two or three before hand then that was definitely my first game. My second game I think was against Crystal Palace. Won 1-0. Gary Owers stood out. 3rd was the Swindon play off final.

Took my Son when he was 7 and he’s been a SC holder since. was a Man Utd game when Ronaldo was there. North east corner.

Daughter came with me at a similar age, but was chatting after the match with someone who said to me “can’t ****ing believe that” and I saud “don’t swear mate with the bairn. The bloke lost his head and started threatening me. Telling me if I ever came back he’d “****ing kill me”. Nit eeen him since strangely!

daughter git scared and never went back She’s a “Mam’s” girl now. They do their thing on a Saturday, me and my boy (who’s 19 now) do our footy.

Still says he’s a Utd fan, but he loves the lads

That must have been your first game because the next 0-0 after that was 1998, whilst the last one before was 1922 :cheesy:

Got free tickets from school and took 6 year old son and Mrs to home game v Southampton November 15, he watched the first 10 minutes then fell asleep until the last 10 minutes. We got beat 1-0. He didn't get the bug until about 10 years old, been a SC holder ever since. He's seen us beaten at Wembley twice, then luckily, we both went to the Wycombe playoff final and both saw us win for the first time. Hhhaaa'wwwwaaaaayyyyyy the lads

I first took my eldest grandson to the Burnley game of 06, 3-2 and Carlos Edwards screamer, he was 6 years old, and l remember carrying him on my shoulders up the stairs into the ground.
My first Roker park game was the day Brian Clough made his 2nd come back, 0-0 against Villa. 1960 I think, definitely a night game.
My sister said, get the bus at the Buffs club Washington, took me age's to find the bus after the game.
