Hes going to tell us the real story why he left hinting that he was pushed from boardroom level into the Chelsea move.

The twat was under contract and put in a transfer request of his own free will.

Its good to see him squirming and sulking on the Chelsea bench.

Don't sit on the fence naiga_lfc... Tell us what you really think about Torres!

    ;)

On a serious note, I wouldn't have him back. He burned his bridges with us and doesn't look half the players he was for us anyway.

Old article of mine, still relevant?

    -------------------------------------------

When Liverpool signed Fernando Torres in the 07/08 season for approximately £25 million, the fans had their new idol, their new number 9 and they idolised him almost instantly.

In his first season he became the first player since Robbie Fowler in the 1995/96 season, to score more than 20 league goals for Liverpool in a season.

Unfortunately, since then it has been a downward spiral. In the 08/09 season his overall goal tally had dropped from 33 to 17. The next season Torres did manage to increase his overall goal haul to 22.

Injury had become an increasing problem for the Spaniard and only nine goals following in the 10/11 season, followed by one at new club Chelsea. Torres was already looking a haunted figure by the time he moved on to Stamford Bridge and, in hindsight, Liverpool did very well to get such a high fee for a player that had not performed to his full potential in nearly three years.

His injury problems have masked what has been a significant loss of form and composure in a player once rightfully regarded as one of the deadliest strikers in world football.

Three years is not a dip in form. There has to be more to this dramatic decline. In Torres' first season at Liverpool the whole world sat up and paid attention: here was the next big thing, a player who had it all. He would score from anywhere and in any way, and the Premier League's top defenders were terrified.

Can new Chelsea manager Andre Villas Boas change Torres fortunes? That is the big question. If he can, then silverware will follow. Villas Boas' own success at Stamford Bridge may rely on finding the real Fernando Torres.

If Torres cannot prove himself quickly at the start of the new campaign he risks being frozen out by a new boss already being linked with a host of other strikers. Who knows where that would leave Torres' career.

Seems bang on Luv. AVB hasn't got the best of him and Torres is being frozen out.

    Good times.

I think this part is now relevant....

"Can new Chelsea manager Andre Villas Boas change Torres fortunes? That is the big question. If he can, then silverware will follow. Villas Boas' own success at Stamford Bridge may rely on finding the real Fernando Torres."

It may seem a bit mad but if I was in AVB's shoes I would leave Drogba out and start with Torres and Sturridge, they are the future and they may also get a few quid for Drogba and Anelka while also showing trust in Torres.

Maybe he's really Agent Nando, Sent to Chelsea to slowly corrupt their club by Kenny Dalglish. Causing rifts inside the dressing room, turning Terry racist, cutting a hole in Cechs mask, Stepping on that guy from Mexicos asthma inhalor (You know, that guy who got scouted by that Geordie bloke, he doesn't know what black pudding is and he's doing the clubs nurse). Well done Nando! keep up the good work!

Wouldn't want him back. I think he's gone down the same road as Owen and injuries seem to have put a massive halt on his progress and he's been out of form for years now. He shows moments of getting back to his old ways but then does something stupid (miss against United or sending off against QPR) and he seems to be back to square one.

I do think give him a run of 20+ games and he'll score a few goals because anyone playing for Chelsea probably will but can't see him getting back to the same standard as he was.

It must be so humiliating for him to be behind Drogba (who scores only rarely) and Sturridge..........I really dont know whatgoes on in his head but when he signed for us I was thrilled and during the early days he was brilliant for us so i cant "hate" him.
Purely from a footballing POV its a shame that he has gone so far downhill because when he was flying he was something pretty special. i also think chelsea will offload him next summer and I am sure it will be back to spain.
