Aldous Huxley & Eric Blair who both wrote dystopian books 1984 & A Brave New World were Fabian society members . Perhaps a glimpse into the future if they get their way
" I object to all punishment whatsoever. I don't want to punish anybody, but there are an extraordinary number of people who I want to kill. Not in any unkind or personal spirit. But it must be evident to all of you, you must all know half a dozen people at least, who are no use in this world; who are more trouble than they are worth. And I think it would be a good thing to make everybody come before a properly appointed board just as he might come before the income tax commissioners and say every 5 years or every 7 years, just put them there, and say, sir or madam, now will you be kind enough to justify your existence? If you can’t justify your existence; if you’re not pulling your weight in the social boat; if you are not producing as much as you consume or perhaps a little more, then clearly we cannot use the big organization of our society for the purpose of keeping you alive, because your life does not benefit us, and it can’t be of very much use to yourself. George Bernard Shaw
My group, Sunshine lollipops and rainbows. Yours, abject misery, as the world they thought they once knew, is immigrationed into history.
I'll give you a clue 1984 was about communism. Now what about a Brave New World? A Tyrannical dictatorship that wants to micro manage the human experience to the extent the beurocrats even decide which of us are allowed to breed & who dies. With most of us living as slaves . Is that your team ?
I've read both books more than once. 1984 is about totalitarianism. Noone breeds, in Brave new world, apart from the people on the reservation. Everyone is decanted from bottles, in the hatchery
Clones . The end of the nuclear family . That's Marxism. Blair said himself that 1984 was about Communism. War is peace Diversity is strength Trans women are women 2+2=5 Your team are halfway there
Tony Thatcher, the warmonger? The one that opened up the borders to all and sundry without any vetting? That Tony Thatcher?
They also get programmed dependent on the class their breeding is ascribed to, such as being 'trained' to fear books and nature and avoid thinking. They are also programmed to favour materialism to keep the national industrial wheels turning and central control paramount. Sounds quite totalitarian to me.
Huxley used 1st and 2nd names from famous people, in his time and put them together, for his characters. Bernard Shaw, Karl Marx and Benito Mussolini, Herbert Hoover. See how many more you can come up with.
You described the future in both books as sunshine happiness & rainbows . Your team in charge ergo Marxists/communists
No I didn't. My group, my type of people, we have fun, meet people, have a good time. Your group, your type of people, just moan about how terrible life is and live in fear of anything or anyone different.
Not even George Orwell could predict the power of Marxist brainwashing where gullible idiots pretend that men can get pregnant . Repeat after me Winston TRANS WOMEN ARE WOMEN
You come across like a depressed lonely cat lady that likes Japanese children's toys . Your only thing keeping you from suicide is being a forum moderator, but we were talking about books not your dreary grey life
