VAR is so ****. The Chelsea goal should have stood, as should this VVD goal.

I'm happy that the score is still 0-0. But that really is rubbish.

    Yep, that's offside.

If I player is unable to mark the player who's headed the ball by being blocked off by a player who's in an offside position then it has to be ruled out. He's interfering with play.

Just go back to regular mistakes n’ all refereeing. This is so ****, it’s sport by Excel spreadsheet. Get rid.

What I will say is that that wasn't what VAR was introduced for. While factually correct to disallow the goal, that is never being ruled out by on field officials. But with VAR, you have to go by the letter of the law.

I'm fine with VAR existing. But only for the really bad decisions which are unquestionably wrong (whether because the on-field officials have messed up, or they didn't see it). And I've said that since day one.

The Holgate tackle. The Daka goal. Decisions that can be corrected in seconds, without multiple angles or drawing of lines.

Bin off this re-refereeing of games, where every tiny aspect of the rulebook gets analysed to the nth degree.

    It’s exacting and utterly joyless.

Agree with the above. Being at the football is SO MUCH BETTER without VAR.

What happened to Lavia btw? Did he suffer another injury after coming back from the one that kept him out in the first half of the season? Or does Poch not rate him?

I can't help feeling that VAR will end up playing a part in whether we get promoted this season or not. I've been feeling it for a while. After a season of bliss, suddenly it'll rear its head at Wembley.

I'm just not sure if the part it plays will go for or against us (if we make it to the final)!

I’d start Sulemana on Wednesday., Pace will give us a chance, plus he fancies himself as too good for the Championship, so show us that against a PL team.

Liverpool going to extra time should help us on Wednesday, maybe we can keep the score line semi respectable, 5-0 or something

Shame he’s so injury prone. So much potential.
