Are you sure? Plenty on Twitter and other places who go to games saying that the crowd is pretty flat.
Is that correct? WBA would be one point worse off, we would have the same points as we have now. So actually we’d both be on 55pts with them ahead of us on goal difference.
Sorry you're right, I was being generous and giving us an extra 3. But point stands WBA would be a point worse off. All about denying them points. Not the end of the world though. Beat Preston and things start to look a bit clearer.
Fell over a few times trying to con us a free kick, hey ho. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
That's probably a more difficult game than Southampton. They're in similar form to us, 3 points behind, on their own patch. I'm hoping our 'away advantage' tips the balance.
I always remember Steve Bruce saying, players can play every day but don't expect the same intensity. City have played 5 games in 15 days, so after, which must have been, their energy sapping performance at Southampton more or less 3.5 days earlier, I think the performance against West Brom was understandable, a little bit below energy wise, but in fact a good effort by the players under the circumstances IMO. Overall a good game, 2 good sides, and a draw, a fair result. I thought both Carvalho, what a great strike for his goal, and Greaves were excellent, and Omur looks an increasingly good piece of business. There are good signs now that Carvalho/Zaroury/Jaden are starting to gel, which can only bode well going forward. I thought Connor Townsend did a good job marshalling Jaden, but he was still unlucky with his effort hitting the post. Giles and Coyle both had good games, as did Seri. Morton was okay, but not at his normal levels. Greaves has really improved this season, he is becoming the complete Centre half, and will probably be playing in the EPL next term, hopefully with us, but if not likely to go elsewhere. As it turned out, with the other result a draw was not a bad result for us, and 16 points from our last 7 games is a very good return. On to Preston, another tough game, but if we can manage 3 points there, we will start to look well set for the play-offs. P.S. I thought Fellows for them look a good young player.
That's great, if the season ended today. There are some massively amber-tinted glasses being worn. It's OK to be critical of your team and wanting them to achieve their potential. We could quite easily rue some of these dropped points come May.
Not sure it's 'massively amber-tinted glasses' to say we're 3 points clear in the play off places. Every team in the league could play better and sure, it's fine to want us to, but I swear people come on here every week regardless of result intent on looking for the negatives. We could win promotion and people would defend their right to focus on our issues that we need to fix in order to do ok in the PL. (it is their right of course but ffs lol)
If I posted on twitter that I had a threesome with Amanda Holden and Kylie Minouge, and afterwards managed to walk up to the bar and get served three times during the half time interval yesterday would you believe that too?
Not quite sure your point. I was citing one example. The person I was responding to claimed that only people watching on TV complained about the atmosphere which is evidently not the case.
Standard save though. While moving the other way, to get his foot back and push the ball wide was pretty impressive I thought.
Yeah that sounded bollocks to me too. Sofascore gave it as 0.93xGOT which is basically saying 93 times out of 100 that’s a goal (expected goal on target).
Sky put their pitchside microphones towards the south end of the stadium. The noise was all coming from the north but no microphone near to pick it up.
Most of this has been said already, but here are my thoughts: It was a good point. We played for the draw towards the end and I have no complaints at that today. West Brom looked stronger and physically fitter and I believe it would have been a mistake to open it up. I wouldn’t want to meet them in the playoffs. Though if Delap is back then, we should fear no one. Dropping Slater was a bad move (unless he wasn’t fully fit). I thought it at the time and it showed today. We needed his energy and he had better form than Morton. Omur looks quality. I’m looking forward to seeing if he can shoot. Zaroury good again and plays like a winger should. On the contrary, Philogene was very quiet and too safe. Frustrating when we know what he’s capable of, but again, could have been a fitness thing. He wasn’t bad though. Overall, it was definitely a must not lose game for both teams. I think that helped us today and you can see why they are above us. A playoff finish is absolutely on however and I think we will do this. UTT.
