Time Is Up - Amazon Prime - comfortably some of the poorest acting I have ever seen .. Bella Thorne is quite easy on the eye, which is the film's only positive... 4/10.
Noticed with films recently the trend of having "girl bosses" which is when you take a formerly masculine franchise and try and make it female friendly is finally coming to an end. Think every single one of these franchises has now been flopping, hard. What happens when you take Spiderman and make it Spiderwoman? It flops. What happens when you make a film for girls called Barbie. 1 billion dollars. What happens when you make a movie for boys called Top Gun 1 billion dollars. Just saying, it's not complicated Hollywood
Beekeeper - 6.6 Typical Statham “**** em up”, decent for an action fix. John Wick-esque at times. A Quiet Place - 7 Pretty decent, liked the concept of it and the cast do a solid job. Although ****ing dumb idea to get pregnant during an alien invasion. A Quiet Place 2 - 6.4 It’s alright but not as good as the first. I would’ve said it after the first one too but living on a boat/ moving to a remote island would’ve likely been my choice of survival, as it would’ve been in the Walking Dead universe. Napoleon - 6.7 Wanted/ hoped this would be a 9.5/10 like Scott’s Gladiator is. It’s a decent enough film with one or two “ok” battle scenes but equally it doesn’t really feel like I watched a movie on Napoleon, a guy widely considered as one of the greatest leaders and best military tacticians of all time, instead it felt like watching a brat that came to power in France, won a couple battles, lost a big one and could never satisfy his missus.
Interesting parallels between Napoleon and Adolf Hitler ... both rose to be supreme leaders in countries that they were not born in - Napoleon was Corsican, Hitler Austrian - both held lowly ranks in the armies of their adopted countries - both were corporals before a dramatic rise to power - both were ultimately ****ed in their bids to conquer the European continent by fighting on two fronts with the real Achilles heel coming as they attempted to reach Moscow ...
Collateral 7/10 it's a BBC drama from 2018 but had Carey Mulligan in it so gave it a watch and it was decent..
Watched My Son on Netflix last night - don't have Sky so saved me from a frustrating night watching our lot at Leeds - stars James McAvoy and Claire Foy as the estranged parents of a young lad that goes missing - and they are both good in their roles - but overall the film feels like it was a missed opportunity to be something really good - currently the No 1 film on Netflix, but no more than 7.5/10 for me ...
Got one of those dodgy firestick things, so can watch anything I think. Have watched nothing, which just shows I've not really got time to watch TV all day. Still haven't finished Breaking Bad, and have barely started Fargo. I can watch True Detective though, so should watch series 3 and 4. Anything else from Sky Atlantic maybe? Not that I'll have time. I did watch United v Fulham live today and that was ****e.
plus he’s still not watched BB I don’t know anyone who has started it but not completed it crazy world
