Possibly yes, and then he did make a mistake that nearly led to a WBA winner.

I hope goal difference isn't what defines our season....

Something has to chance we can't keep conceding soft, daft, silly goals and not scoring enough. It's unfortunately not a promotion winning formula. As I say.... everything in-between is going well

I have just got home and watched the 15 minute sky sports highlights. Don Goodman stated we were second in the 'most shots taken from outside the box' in this division. Couldn't believe that.

We are yes, as I say, everything in between those things is going well. But look at our GD, look at the goals ( some of them ) we concede and look at how many games we fail to create & convert meaningful chances..... LR said it himself again today, we should have more points.

Half a pie, then. Level, even game, me thinks. We could have nicked it. They could have nicked it.. Not sure what Morton was trying to do, booting it out for a throw-in that led to the corner that led to their goal.

Overall, not a bad weekend....Cov lost, Norwich draw, Sunderland lost, Bristol lost, Middlesbro lost. Watford lost. Only negative was PNE winning. Its very much in our hands, to cement a top 6 spot

Happy enough with 4 out of 6 points. More than u expected tbf.
On the other hand, disappointed that Tuesday didn't mark the start of a more positive exciting style of play that better fits with Rosenior's repeated narrative. There simply wasn't the same energy, bravery, pressing, positivity etc. It was all too safe, even pedestrian (not just my words but those of the analysts and post match reporters).
I get it that WBA play differently to Southampton but so what? That fact shouldn't stop us getting up and at them in a similar fashion to how we did against Southampton, who are arguably a better, more dangerous side. But we didn't. I can understand us being more cautious against a team with real pace across their midfield and attack, like say Leeds, but West Btom haven't.
So, whilst the thinkers can rationalise that it's 4 out of 6, a defeat avoided, etc, once again for a near sold out crowd it's another home game where we fail to see us up and at the opposition.

Wouldn't think we've won 5 of the last 7 having lost only once, would you?

Disappointed with a point, but that in itself is good.
Brummies are are a different kettle of fish to Soton in play and set up, big defensive units, fast break out, more direct, almost like we needed 12 players - an out and out forward, but who (first half ) I'd have taken off would have been the question in retrospect
They're 5th for a reason (unless the table changed again)

Thought Philogene had a good first half, though more subdued / marked out / change of tactics second half...

    Grrr just a point...

Hull City head coach Liam Rosenior:

"If you can't win, don't lose. We put ourselves in a strong position against a really organised team, but these games are about fine margins.

"We are a young team but with two minutes before half-time we should have kicked the ball out into touch - and then we conceded a corner. That period between Fabio's goal and their goal, we were in control of the game, but in football it is about managing moments and we didn't do that, which was frustrating.

"We just need to learn from the mistakes, but I can't fault players in terms of engagement, energy levels and commitment. If that continues, I think we're in a really strong position.

"We're in a really good spot. We need to stay consistent, stay calm and ignore the noise. We'll keep playing the way we believe - this could be a really good point for us."

West Brom head coach Carlos Corberan:

"A point was the fair result for what both teams created on the pitch. We both had similar types of chances and a similar number of chances.

"When you don't win the game, it's important not to lose. We needed to concentrate in defence to get something. Our defence was key, but we need to improve in two key parts: don't concede possession and create chances.

"We tried to be aggressive and to stop them playing from the back and did that well. We had some good possibilities that could have given us something else, but they had a big chance in the second half, too.

"They have a lot of quality players, and Carvalho showed the danger that he has. In open play we were fantastic, but we still need to increase our levels of concentration."

Really sounds like 2 people who didn't want to lose as opposed to 2 people who really wanted to win....

I haven’t seen their goal other than live at the game, when it looked like a very lucky fluke, was it actually a decent goal?
