Seems I made the right decision to go and get a bottle of wine and then refill the birdfeeders before I came back to check on the score
I've been thinking that for a while now. I don't like to point the finger but I think the problem lies with the Head Coach. We basically have a group of quite decent players who he can't seem to organise or motivate. A bit late in the day now to change him, but that would probably be for the best.
Wonder if we could pinch Nigel Clough - his Mansfield side have scored 14 goals in their last 2 home games, and have just knocked Stockport off the top of the table.
Replace him with who though? Not exactly spoilt for choice First half dreadful . 2nd slightly better but we cannot take our chances . And we let in 2 goals from throw ins - poor concentration and marking
Tommy Mooney said that we don't have a natural goalscorer. We did have plenty of chances, but you have to think he is right.
I think he was brought in for the season to oversee the sort out of a bloated squad of players, many of whom were just at the club for the ride. He said he likes working with a small group of players, so he fitted the bill. Things could have changed if relegation loomed, but Gino might have had someone in mind if that happened. Of course, he might have struck lucky and made the play-offs, increasing bums on seats and revenue.
On the train home... we were ****. End of. The lack of belief was palpable. WTAF goes on on the training ground to produce performances like that [week in week out] is a mystery wrapped up in an enigma. It cannot continue
Hopefully Kone won't start to be dis motivated having been taken off early and not looking very happy about it.
I don't think VI will get sacked this season but I very much doubt he will be here for next season along with about half of the squad, we are in exactly the same position as we were when Pozzo took over and we need a manager and some players who WANT TO WIN not just avoid defeating hope for a fluke winner The difference between the first half of the first game and now is almost as big as the gap between the Prem and League 2, if VI has any pride and honesty should be talking now about how he can leave without him or the owners losing face If as expected we lose Asprilla and Andrew in the close season we will be a club fighting to stay in the Championship rather than trying to leave the Championship
I'm always suspicious when they cite "sources" without naming them. They could have made it up themselves.
