Didnt we used to have a goalkeeper called Gordon or something?

    Whatever ever became of him?

We paid a **** load of money for him I seem to remember but if you go onto the SAFC.com site there is no mention of his ever existing? Its as if he has been erased from the record books?

Any offer will be accepted for Gordon in January. May be £1m. If not then he will be given a free come May. Although we paid a hell of a lot of money for him (at least £4m too much) many thought he would be a top keeper for years to come.
Maybe he still will but doubt very much it will be with us.

Gordon is a very good keeper and is still young. He has been unfortunate with injury but may be one of the big earners who we need to offload so I think if we get a decent offer for him come Jan then he will be gone as I don't see him playing second fiddle to anyone.

Always said we should have at least gave him a 1 year extension as we forked out 9mil for him and letting him go for jack in the Summer because he isn't fully fit is yet another major **** up in a long line of **** ups since Bruce took over, or maybe it is Short who is the cause?

Why do we need to offload him??He is our best goalkeeper,by a country-mile.Yet another case of the inept SB off-loading someone else he didn't sign!!!Yes,we all know he has been injured, but, was that his fault??

Thing is though, Short didnt sign him either, so if he is on £40,000 + pw its another big earner off the wage bill, thats been injured a lot, and Short isnt loosing a penny on the actual transfer if we let him go for a free.

you can see the logic behind letting him go, as disappointing as it is because on his day he's up there with the best and above the other two we've got. still, those two aren't bad mind.

all that being said, you can bet wherever the lad goes next he won't pick up another injury for the rest of his career...

In my opinion Craig got injured at the very time he was actually starting to show that he was a decent keeper...Having said that, I have every confidence in Mignolet and Westwood in this position so it will be the financial loss rather than losing a key player which will hurt...

I think he'll be back in the side once he's fully fit come January/February. I can't see him passing a medical anywhere in January, would any club take a risk on a player who has had so many knee + arm injuries without getting the go ahead from the doctors?
