Frustrating today, looked like 2 teams happy to take a point. Get to HT 1 up and it's a different game, of course.....wouldn't have taken zaroury off thought he was our brightest player

Meh. Slightly disappointed really. Just don't think we gave ourselves enough opportunities to win it.

I'd have had Tufan on earlier for Morton who was playing very advanced and I didn't see the need to take Seri off. He was bossing it and fatigue didn't seem a factor.

Agreed, fair result, either team could’ve won it really

Thought Philogene had his worst game of the season, not a bad performance, but well below the standards he's set. How many times did he get the ball in space and just turn back towards his own goal? In terms of wing play, I thought Zaroury had the better game today. We were way too pedestrian in the passing though. Final thought, if you want to know how good Allsop is as a sweeper goalie, look at the opposition goalie's performance today. Lost count of how many times he blotered it into touch or to one of our players.

only lester and leeds have conceded less goals than west brom, and only by a couple
west brom are very tough to break down, the real difference between west brom, city and the teams chasing autos, if we both lack that extra goal scoring, top 4 all have 15+ goals more

but id rather have southampton over 2 legs than west brom

Was far better than his performance against Swansea.

We didn't press anything like we did against Southampton and consequently we gave them time and allowed them to play the ball - having said that, could easily have gone either way so I suspect both teams happy not to lose

I just think the way West Brom plays suits getting pressed. They move the ball the best in the division imo. The way they can play through with dynamism is something we could learn from.

All in all a great result today. They’re certainly the side I wouldn’t want in the play offs

How were we expected to press like we did v Soton when we had the ball for 70% of the game? I'm not quite sure what people expect. When we didn't have the ball we did press and we won the ball back just as effectively. The difference being they were sitting deep so we couldn't just play a few quick passes and have a shot.

He’s not a right winger. We are nullifying him out there

Morton not at it today aside from that steady game, will take the point.

I get that LR intends to play the same way in every game but I think today shows the possible naivety of that approach. Southampton and WBA are at opposite ends of the stylistic spectrum and, having pressed Saints into submission, today we were bullied all over the pitch. Badabish looked a bit lost and we were crying out for a physical presence up front to occupy their centre backs. Maybe a game for Ohio.

Definitely think Ohio would’ve been a better option then Connolly. Especially considering he didn’t keep the ball when he got it, and there was plenty of space in behind too.

Just wish we’d up the tempo abit I guess, helps lift the crowd. But we played well, we’ll struggle to keep Greaves even if we go up now IMO…

    Greaves
    Seri
    Fabio

Greaves is our most important player for me.

Probably a fair result on balance. Both teams had chances to win it too. Don’t think we could’ve pressed as aggressively as Southampton. West Brom defend really well. They also don’t play as high as other promotion-chasing teams. Everything is very compact and hard to play through.

Disappointed as I am not to win any game, a point is much better than going all out to win this one and losing.

Not sure why anyone is criticising the pressing? It wasn't as total as against Southampton, because West Brom are better than Southampton at deaing with that kind of press. However we forced them to cough up possession plenty of times.

I thought it was loan and purchase in the summer. If not then it can't be the reason
