If all fans want is winning football then the Championship is definitely the place for us to be. However that doesn't stop the moaners and whingers at games who always find something to complain about. Last night was a case in point when to hear some of the comments whilst we were losing you'd have thought we were mid table at best and not 2nd in the League and undefeated at home. These are the same fans who were booing last season and they turn in a heartbeat on players like Meslier, Firpo & Bamford as soon as they do anything less than perfect. Bottom line is if we go up it will all turn toxic again as the true definition of being a supporter seems to be a thing of the past.
Spot on identifying where our problems lay and something should have been done about it at HT. That said Gnonto was good going forward, plus we were losing so most managers would probably have given it 10 mins to see how it was going after the break. Farke got away with one as Archie got mullered for another 25 mins and Leicester should have put the game to bed.
Really good that Ell….until the bit about Piroe gives more of a team effort than Bamford, were you laughing when you wrote that? Just had a thought, IF we make the 6 points up on Leicester we would almost certainly swing the 4 deficit in goal difference too
Mavididi and Gnonto were 'cheating'. (They weren't doing any defending and just backed themselves to have a bigger impact than their opposite cheater). They both looked good going forward but Dewsbury Hall figured out that Gnonto wasn't really tracking back so he drifted left (certainly 1st half). That left Gray isolated, pulled Rodon out of position slightly and opened up the middle. That's when changes should have been made. It went on too long. Leicester were tactically very good but also technically superb in carrying instructions out. The first game at Leicester we had Dan James helping Gray out which really stopped Mavididi from having a big impact. It is what it is. They were really good but we made them pay for missed opportunities. Fantastic win.
D Farke: I trusted also Archie to play on the left fullback position he never played there, it was obviously risky because he's not played there before. Will he start at LB v Chelsea?
Did we see last night why Spurs aren't keen on Rodon for their first team ? In possession he looked short of ideas at times and against pace out wide and through the middle he couldn't provide the excellent cover he usually does. Still a keeper for me but it's all about the pricetag.
Ange likes to play a very high line so his CBs need to be very quick, which Rodon isn’t. Spurs were never going to keep him.
Wait....am I the only one who thinks Rodon is pacey? Or is it because I'm used to watching Cooper and Struijk?
