He said that Israel "allowed" Hamas to attack, so that it had the green light to attack Gaza. That's outrageous. Starmer made a point of going on TV to say this is unacceptable and they would deselect him, and that by Labour acting decisively in this way (despite dithering for a couple of days) it showed the party had changed since the bad antisemitic days of Corbyn. Now, even before the by election, Labour are inviting him to dinner. See how bad it looks?
Yeah it was a stupid thing to say and he’s rightly lost Labour’s support and won’t be selected at the General Election which is what really matters. The news broke on a Sunday I believe and he was gone by.. Monday? Maybe Tuesday. Not exactly dithering by any standard let alone the standards we now hold politicians to if any of the countless Tory scandals are anything to go by. Doesn’t look like he’s been invited to dinner. Looks like some fat council bods having a **** lunch at work.
And add "rancid? Even without it is. If I call a black bloke, a black git, that's racist You're born at the wrong time. You'd have been at home in the 1970's
You've never met me, mate. So justify rancid. Is it age alone, so do you apply it to others on this board of the same age? Or is that I see you as a harmless Christmas Turkey?
Most of the elders on this board are full of wisdom and an absolute delight to converse with. Please feel free to explain the turkey thing further with some sort of rant about Muslims though.
Starmer's clear out of antisemites, while commendable for effort, is simply masking the truth. There's a huge Hard Left/ Islamist antisemitic element in Labour, including some of thei MP's. You're Jewish and you will vote for them. If that isn't a turkey voting for Christmas. I don't know what is. The Lib Dem's are your natural home
Whichever party is more likely to get the current ****s out is my natural home. The Libs had their chance to be relevant and got into bed with Cameron. It just so happens I’ve moved from a safe Tory seat to a safe Labour one with a decent centre-ish MP. Growing up the only antisemitism I received was from the right. We are, for want of a better word, fortunate their ire is pointed at Muslims these days so we get this bollocks now like Tommy Robinson going all pro-Israel but undoubtedly there’s plenty of Jew hate at both ends of the spectrum. Neither far left nor far right have much in common with me and both seem desperate to keep Starmer’s Labour out so he’ll do for me.
How huge ? This 'antisemitism' is getting thrown about way too easily. My Aunt on my wife's side is Jewish, which I only found out the other week, not that it matters. She was a big Corbyn fan and still is but has now found her home with the lib dems due to her best friend being a councillor.
It's gone underground in Labour. Under Corbyn, a Jewish Labour MP had to have bodyguards when attending Labour's annual conference. That's gone for now, but a lot of the pro Liberal, anti Zionist, antisemitic protesters on the hate marches are Labour supporters, including Islamists. Under Starmer, they can't admit it. But they're there still.
The Hard Left and Islamists will go with Starmer, because they want the power. But I predict, Starmer will have huge problems once in power from within his own party. We're even seeing some now, which is what the Hoyle issue is about.
Anyway, time will tell but at least we agree that getting the Tories out is the best course of action.
All the Corbynite Palestine-shagging types are furious with Starmer’s stance on Gaza. If Muslims make up a single-digit percentage of the electorate then how many “Islamists” can there be? No one group is going to all vote and no religious group votes homogenously.
Tories wanted more deregulation of the banks, some gold was sold and invested in Euros which made a profit, debt was incurred to stop the whole banking system collapsing and they got shares in banks which Tories sold to their mates on the cheap. Your Reform vote will definitely solve all the UK's problems. Farage and Tice's crew definitely have the knowledge and skillset to Make Britain Great Again.
