<laugh> the Cold War had little to do with the arming of the IRA ... far more so the millions of Irish Americans ...

... and it's never lazy to allude to historical facts ...in contrast it's informed and apposite ... it is however lazy to dismiss them if they don't fit your narrative or stance tho' <whistle>

    Lol

A massive portion of IRA arms were Libyan, the biggest portion of which were traditional weapons like mass produced Soviet AK47s and RPGs, as well as tons of other small arms.

I didn't dismiss a thing, you're just absolutely atrocious at chatting with anyone on here, without throwing little curves at people to build a narrative to suit

How you can look at my post there with the ANC and IRA and act like I'm "dismissing" them when I even provide an argument as to why it wouldn't work in 2024 is astounding to be quite frank.

You dodge everything you don't like.

In the 1970s there were more mass produced arms on the open market than any other time in post 1945 history.

    Fosse disagrees tho

Won't admit it like, but he does.

Fosses posts are like that scenario, an infinite amount of monkies and an infinite amount of type writers.

Eventually you're bound to find his point

The IRA started committing terrorist attacks overseas as soon as they were formed. They’ve always been terrorists.

When the Irish Republic became a thing, the IRA continued to smuggle arms, kill people and devolved into what were essentially gangsters.

Killing less than 1% of the population doesn’t really constitute genocide.

Yeah they’ve always been murderous bastards. We had big trouble with them up in the north east over 100 years ago. That was after taking them in, giving them homes, jobs, education. Ungrateful scummy bastards.

Armed struggle and resistance is fine. Going into another country to rape and murder innocent civilians, is not.

If another group replaced Hamas and done what they done they’d also be terrorists.

    LOL ...

You are not reading it properly - the 1916 Irish rebellion certainly was not funded by Libya or anywhere else in the middle-east ...<doh>

So I've dodged nothing ... you are simply, a bit thick <laugh>

the original assault rifle favoured by the provos was the Armalite ( particularly with the folding stock) hence the "God made the Catholics the Armalite made us equal" graffitti . Lots of these arms came in on liners having been hidden onboard.after being smuggled onto the ship by the American longshore men .
The Libyan arms came much later .

Yeh but the camels used in the assault on the post office during Easter 1916 were definitely Libyan ... they were smuggled over by Gaddafi's grandad on a magic carpet <whistle>

You did not mention a date once, there were multiple stages of the Irish rebellion, the IRA and the rest.

Now, you're chatting about 1916 Ireland in comparison to 2024 Palestine.

    ****ing 100 years difference like.

I was giving you the ****ing benefit of the doubt referring to the 1970s ffs <laugh>

Fosse will jump on this to aid in his back peddling from the original point

Welp, he pulled a blinder. He knew someone would pop on, muddle the point and he'd sneak out of it <laugh>

I blame David Lloyd George, he never should have allowed the IRA to buy those American F15s
