Correct me if I'm wromg (i.e. do NOT attempt to correct, 'cos I never am) but didn't the Amazon documentary clearly show there was a transfer committee in place at the club which was literally Ashworth, Howe, Nickson, Staveley, Reuben, with some input from Al Rumayyan, following full rundown compiled by an assigned scout and a further assessment done by Howe's nephew? I actually think Ashworth ****ed us last Summer. What's come out about refusing players because Ashworth felt Anderson was good enough was really telling. No coincidence we went for Barnes, Livramento and Hall - all mainstays of the England U-21 setup. Tonali was just one where we sold a trick, but Ashworth bought it, so maybe his agent relationships aren't all that either if he's knowingly stitched up by one. Says to me that Dan had the most power and was arguably the main reason we made such a pigs ear of the Summer recruitment. I used to berate Nickson but overlooked the fact he was working under Ashley's constraints. If you credit him in particular with our signings, he's done an outstanding job and should be the first one you listen to. Howe wants a player, Nickson finds a shortlist, scouts do their job, committee discuss it. Where it can go wrong is Howe saying "I want Philips". That's where you DO need someone stronger to say "no, he's crap".

Howe was appointed on 08.11.21 - that is a fact. How much he was involved in signing of Bruno, Botman, Trippier, Isak is pure speculation on everyone's part, regardless of your perspective. By the way, Probably and May, cannot be used in conjunction with facts and/or evidence. These things are absolutes, not open to interpretation. Unless of course you use them as a mealy mouthed way to try and twist yourself out of a hole you've created for yourself ....
The two comments made were different things altogether so they can actually. 1 I said howe probably added certain names to list. 2. I said clubs look at players for years that's a fact.. no probably or may involved. Ultimately and I'll say this a third time the only person saying anything absolute said howe signed Botman Guimareas and Isak , but that person hasn't been chased around and asked for evidence.
Exactly Judge. So anything Chaos says from now on that includes 'may, 'probably', 'possibly' etc. can simply be dismissed as a wind up. And anything he says that doesn't include those words, will need to be backed up by evidence that proves his point, otherwise will simply be deemed as a wind up.
That's just silly because they're descriptive words and key to this misunderstanding. Look on page 25 you bolded out asking for evidence but I'd used the words may have Ultimately it doesn't really matter we've cleared it up now and I stand by what I said about clubs watching players years.
Point 2 - based on the dates provided are you telling me that the Ashley's regime prior to the takeover scouted Isak, Botman, Bruno? Its the only way that your fact about clubs scouting players for years can be true. No obfuscation, just a yes or no answer please
The clubs watch players for years..........You honestly think Mike Ashley and Lee Charnley had them in mind? The takeover went through in October and Bruno, Trippier, Burn, Targett, Wood were all brought in 3 months later. So that proves that theory wrong. In addition to this they tried signing Botman and that time wasting little French **** in the Jan too and were told to come back in the summer. Asswipe wasn't approached till after the Jan, in fact it was the April before the recruitment firm suggested him as the top candidate and we approached Brighton. It was 22nd June he started. So again your imaginary idea's that teams scout players for years is proved wrong as we snapped up Botman, Pope and Isak before moving on towards Anthony Gordon the following Jan (A player who only made his breakthrough at Everton 15 months earlier). Your suggesting that Howe wasn't involved in those transfers, yet the transfer group at the time of the takeover once the management change was made was Howe, Tindall and Nickson - as was shown on the Amazon documentary with Amanda and Mehrdad leading the financial negotiations.
This is all well and good, but if you could please just stick to the narrative that anything and everything wrong with the club is due to Eddie Howe, that would be very much appreciated. Thank you. X
I knew you'd all struggle with this, but yes the scouts will have been watching these players. The thing is its not imagination it's the truth. The thing is you said specifically Howe signed Bruno , Isak and Botman and now it's he was involved. Sometimes I really do wonder about you guys.
Nickson has been here years... the didn't just burn the club down and all the info. I'm right on this mate. Do you guys really think they just put in disc and play a game like you all did..scouts watch players in some cases from like 7 years old... I know it hurts, but I know what goes on.
I'm surprised you don't all remember when you guys used to hate on Nickson and I used to argue that he gives them a list and will rarely get the ones at the top of it. Now you're all acting like the sun shines out his arse, but he's the same man it's just the club is getting players higher up the list. Howe will be adding his suggestions to the list aswel and making his case while agreeing and disagreeing with the reports and suggestions from the staff the club pays to do their job.
