Don't forget that the next set of accounts cover this season. So the improved TV money from next season isn't helpful for the next accounts. We're really very reliant on a big windfall (e.g. Eze) or the Bhatia stand sponsorship being quite generous...perhaps a £10m sponsorship for 5 years paid all up front...
Regarding an Eze or any potential player sales such as Chair. I think the timing of any such revenues make it probably not feasible to have it in the accounts for this season 2023/2024. Our accounts close 31 May, but the next transfer window when player sales can be registered does not open until June I don't think. Not sure there is a legal way of booking such revenue in the 23/24 accounts, but know the rules on booking of revenues are strictly applied- some Companies have paid huge fines for reporting revenue in the wrong years accounts.
Eek. Good point. So we really are very reliant on our sponsorship deals being really rather generous...
So would our new ceo allow the acquisition of new players ( and their salary) this January...if we were really worried about being in danger of crossing the ffp threshold this season I hope not
Hope you're right. Alternative idea could have been: we're going to breach this thing this season anyway, so might as well invest to stay in the championship. Better to get a points deduction next year in the championship, than get one next year anyway, but in L1. Hope I'm wrong.

Always an interesting (and sobering read). Really ****ed up with the Austin and Johansen signings and then falling for Beale's snake oil. Promotion pushes timed correctly with the rolling 3 year FFP cycle make sense but modern football fans aren't patient enough for such common sense approaches. You have to assume Nourry and Co. know what they're doing and that bringing the Jan signings in wasn't another gamble akin to the Warbs promotion push. First things first please stay in the bloody division rangers.
The fact is, if your not one of the big 6, your not allowed to have ambition ! In fact the Premier League and the EFL find it abhorrent if any smaller clubs show any inkling of trying to gatecrash their cosy set up
Are you saying we’re a small club Hammy? Blimey. I must have had delusions of grandeur for all these years
